125: Perrelli dec Waldo 3-0 Cornell (Perrelli had a tough weekend at the BU Open, but he's still by far the better guy here. I think he gets off to a good start this weekend in front of the home crowd here)
133: Sentes dec Stanzione 3-3 (Conservative call with Stanzione coming into the match hot off of his Binghamton Open championship which included a win over Hutter, and Sentes wrestling his first match of the year. Sentes has the capacity to do more but we'll keep it to three for the time being)
141: Manson or Villalonga dec Mattingly 6-3 Cornell (Both Cornell guys are just better, hopefully Villalonga isn't banged up too badly and we get to see him make his debut)
149: Dake maj Corby 10-3 Cornell (And it could be more here, don't know about 6 since Dake doesn't pin many people but 5 is a definite possibility here)
157: Meagher dec Cubberly 13-3 Cornell (Meagher comes in as the hot hand here, going with him)
165: Miller dec Kerber 13-6 Cornell (Kind of like 133 its tough to make a call here since this will be Miller's first competition this year. If he's acclimated himself to the weight he is the better guy)
174: Lewnes dec Bennett 16-6 Cornell (Marquee match up on paper with two returning All Americans both of whom like to get after it. Got to go with Lewnes until someone not named Jay Borschel scores on him)
184: Bosak dec Friend 19-6 Cornell (Koll really starting to talk Bosak up at this weight class. Don't know if I buy it yet nationally but he's definitely the better guy here)
197: Simaz maj Kelliher 23-6 Cornell (Simaz wears him down, picks up the bonus points with some third period TD's)
285: Trice dec Lane 23-9 Cornell (Trice not a huge scorer but he gets the job done here)
Perrelli WIN by deec
Cornell wins at 141 by dec
I shoot, I score. He shoots, I score
285: UR Stryker Lane
That is definitely the front runner for porn name of the year.
Grapplefan: Cornell 19 Central Michigan 13 (check the arithmetic) (6 matches to 4)
Gold: Cornell 27 Central Michigan 12 (Again check the arithmetic) (7-3)
JensenS: Cornell 23 Central Michigan 9 (7-3)
Gage: Cornell 29 Central Michigan 10 (8-2)
Average: Cornell 25 CMU 11 (7-3)
So far it looks like the prevailing opinion is that CMU hardly has a chance vs Big Red. That's a big gap between #1 & #5 in my opinion. Imagine how much bigger it MIGHT be if Grey was wrestling or if Kerber wrestles good enough to beat Miller. Almost sounds like the past few years with Iowa...
Anyone know what weight this is going to start at?
Starting at 125. The Flo webcast is up and running.
