    R0LLER COASTER

Daniel Dennis has had a roller coaster career at Iowa. He stepped into the lineup as a true freshman during the 2005-06 season and posted a 20-18 record. The next season he redshirted ? and then missed last season after breaking his jaw. In April, he won the University Nationals title in freestyle. He is expected to challenge 2008 NCAA runner-up Joe Slaton for a starting spot in the lineup at 133 pounds this season. RevWrestling.com's Andrew Hipps talked to Dennis about the upcoming season, whether he and Slaton battle in practice, whether he would consider transferring if he is not in the lineup, whether he would consider moving up to 141 pounds, and much more.

Mark: next time talking to Daniel Dennis would you mind suggesting that he transfer to Oklahoma State? We are weak at 133 this year with Tyler Shinn.

In the interests of full disclosure, I've never talked to Daniel Dennis. The interview was conducted by Andrew Hipps, senior writer at RevWrestling.com

Also in the interests of full disclosure, I've never talked to Martin Floreani, either. Nor has he left me any voicemails. ;-)

And who says paying for coverage is a bad thing for our sport. I'd much rather pay for solid coverage and interviews done professionally, than that amateur crap.

Yes, Tyler Shinn is a "contender" at 133. But Oklahoma State fans are used to several notches above a contender. No one at OSU aspires to just be an All-American and help the team out with points. We want the top grapplers, period!
