    Brother Homer,
Yeah, I took a 24 hr train ride through Turkey/Bulgaria with Leroy once and I can guess exactly what kind of humor you are referring to. Very funny guy, but not the kind of things you go around saying if you plan on having any kind of public career! Leroy is a great guy though. As for Ortiz, he was a wrestler during the 1+ year that I was at ASU with SKK. Never struck me as a particularly warm or friendly kind of person. Sounds like my perception was fairly accurate. Really too bad about Simpson, whom I have only heard great things about.

Bluestater, just out of curiosity, what type of interactions have you had with Ortiz that make you dislike him? You can respond here, private message me me, or not answer at all, I'm just curious. Not that I'm surprised by your feelings though.

Thom has always been kind and polite to me and my child. Having said that.... this decision was f*cked up in the worst way. Aaron is beyond kind and polite. He is, and always has been, nothing short of terrific. Nobody works harder, or has more passion than Aaron. From the little ones to the seniors. I don't think Thom really conceptualized how many people Aaron has touched.

Sadly, I am very afraid he may kill ASU's program (there are some REALLY DEEP pockets that may keep it going)..... but no matter what I think Ortiz is done now. He has some coaching ability to be sure (and results to back it up), but he seems to be lacking in the skills to build a program, train and motivate staff, and motivate wrestlers to do their best. That was Simpsons skills... and now he is gone.

I coached Aaron in HS, ASU got him to walk on with the promise of a partial scholorship. He had offers to elsewhere but his brother was already there, and ASU was the place he wanted to go. The thought was with his grades he'd be able to pull academic scholorships to go which he did.

He is a class act, a great technician, and a wonderful coach.

I can tell you guys SOOOO many reasons ortiz is a douche I don't even know where to begin. Things that will boggle your mind. I have unfortunately been forced to be personally involved with him often over the past few years.
Before I start, I want to make sure all of you are still on this thread since it is from a while back.
    Anyone still interested?

Why don't we just keep that on the Ortiz thread, and leave this thread alone?

I wrestled for him for 3 years and could easily do the same andy. He did and said some things that people wouldn't even believe if they heard it. I was tempted after Aaron got let go, but didn't. I'm not going to do it now, because at least he's finally gone, and I'm not really one to kick someone when they are down. But yes, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in your stories. How are you personally involved w/ him andy? And yes, just feel free to respond on the other thread.

Unbelievable. I will post my comments tomorrow after I confirm all of this is true about him being let go.

Andy - first off welcome to the forums. While we'd like to hear more info, please try to do so without personally attacking anyone. Using a term like "douche" to personally attack someone in your first post is not the way we prefer to discuss wrestling here at TWT. We try to keep a friendlier tone, even if it's referring to someone who isn't very well liked in these parts. Thanks again and looking forward to what you have to say...
