They must not be as optimistic as they were a month ago.

I thought Destin McCauley was already signed sealed and delivered to go 149?

Well obviously Destin will redshirt his freshmen year. After that all hell will probably break loose.

IMO, this is Jason Welch's world, we're all just living in it.

I disagree. Really don't see it. I wouldnt pick him to make finals of b10.

Its kind of funny that you put it like this given that he's already done this two years ago as a pretty undeveloped true freshman.

Weight class is definitely tougher this season than it was then, but I think (shockingly) that people are putting a little too much stock in Welch's freestyle losses this summer when it comes to projecting him in folk this coming year. Welch has never really been that good at freestyle even dating back to when he was in high school when he was the #1 recruit in the nation in folk.

I'm probably going to wind up talking myself into David Taylor winning this weight within the conference at least going into the season but I think its definitely foolish to sleep on Welch.

I wasn't even aware he wrestled freestyle this summer and wouldnt put much stock in his results since he scrambles like a mad man.

I don't think it's "sleeping on him" to think that between David Taylor, Derek St. John, Colt sponseller, Jake Deitchler, and Kurt Kinser(owns a major and fall over welch) that 2 of them would outplace him.

Isn't it pretty much confirmed that Kinser is out of the weight class anyway? And aside from that, everyone else listed by vaisforlovers is only equal to Welch's accomplishments at best in Folkstyle.

The guys talented don't get me wrong, but I see some guys giving him problems. His best win to date is his 6-3 win over Kinser, maybe his win over winston.
