Iowa State's Hilton Coliseum under water as floodwaters hit Ames, central Iowa
Severe flooding in central Iowa has claimed at least one life, closed a major interstate highway, interrupted water supplies to thousands of residents, and left James H Hilton Coliseum -- the home to the Iowa State Cyclones wrestling program -- under water.
In Ames, flooding contributed to a water main break that forced the city to shut off water to the community's 55,000 residents. One of the areas hardest hit by the flooding, which began late Tuesday night, is the Iowa State University campus, including Hilton Coliseum.

I-35 South and 30 West were closed by the State Patrol. All traffic was funnelled into 30 East detouring around Des Moines. My five hour easy drive turned into a 7 hour event.
