What are the Rules for preseason/postseason conditioning? Are they similar to high school where if a school has it, it has to be open-mat in which you don't have to attend the high school?

anyone?
I presume you are referring to college.
Athletic facilities on campus are generally secured so only those with an access card can enter. Most schools restrict use of the wrestling room to members of the team. Not even those on the school club wrestling team are routinely allowed access. Under certain circumstances, a coach may allow someone from outside the team workout with the team members, out of season. Many of the Div I schools operate clubs and may have off-campus facilities. To workout there you'd need to join as a member of the club or gain permission from the club coach.
If you are thinking about walking into the Iowa wrestling room (or any other for that matter) erase the idea from memory.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

That ought to help.
I can understand no walk-ons for like the season (there'd just be too many wrestlers!) but why so strict on preseason workout? I thought it would be a good idea as those who don't make the team can just go in there to practice. They are helping the recruits and themselves at the same time.
