I'm not sure that USA wrestling is "without Brands". Perhaps there is a just an evolution in thinking about the best ways to develop international freestyle wrestlers. Many (if not most) of our top prospects work as collegiate assistant coaches all over the country. With Kevin Jackson now at Sunkist Kids, Terry Brands at the U of I (and Hawkeye WC), John Smith at the Cowboy WC, Zeke Jones at the OTC and clubs like Sean Bormet's Overtime - athlete's have more regional training options. Time will tell if this is good or bad for American freestyle wrestling.

I strongly suspect that Terry coming back to IC will make Metcalf a better freestyler. Will that be bad for American wrestling?

I'm sure nobody is more excited than Metcalf.

With the possibility of Cejudo training in Iowa City I'm sure that Nate Moore is pleased as well. The HWT's should be excited too if the rumors of Mocco coming to town are true. Too bad Rasing quit again.

The jury is still out on Rasing. Tom got after him and he quit. I think he is just burnt out.

I very pleased to see Terry coming back to Iowa and I know Tom is very happy too. A lot of people like to type-cast them as unpredictable and selfish firecrackers, but those who know them, they're genuine WYSIWYG kind of people who are devotedly loyal to their whole entire family of wrestlers. Yeah they're competitive but they're brothers who are also very close...despite what the pseudo-experts like to post about them.

USA Wrestling will survive. Jones is capable and will stir up his own brand (excuse the pun) of excitement.
