Default 33-year-old UIU wrestler Justin Decker 0-2 @ NCAA Div 2 Championships

One of the great Cinderella stories of recent college wrestling has ended.

    Justin Decker
, the 33-year-old dairy farmer who resumed his wrestling career at Upper Iowa University after more than a decade, lost both of his matches at the 2010 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships Friday at Sapp Fieldhouse at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Decker, wrestling in the 157-pound bracket for the UIU Peacocks, fell in his opening-round match to Michael Williams, a redshirt freshman from the University of North Carolina-Pembroke, 6-1. That loss sent Decker to the consolation bracket, where he lost a close 3-2 decision to Michael Lybarger, a redshirt sophomore from the University of Findlay (Ohio).

Great story. Too bad he couldn't have eeked out a win.

Yeah that's pretty cool. I have recurring dreams where I have to wrestle a match at my current age. The dreams seem to always include anxiety about making my h.s. weight, and then actually wrestling the match. I usually make the weight but I never seem to wrestle the match. It's nice to see an "old guy" get out there and compete with the young folks.

More old guys in every style and division of wrestling, great for the sport
