    Default Thorn

    Not to state the obvious, and definitely not trying to troll here (since the last Thorn discussion got a little heated), but how differently does everybody view this kid's chances at winning it all NOW? He beat up Marion pretty well and took out Hump in a tough match in B10's. His one match with Dake could have gone (and in my opinion should have gone) his way; he actually roughed Dake up quite a bit in that match as well. He looks very very dangerous to me right now.


    It might be a trendy pick but I think he's peaking at the perfect time, and will take the big enchillada, and then maybe eat a big enchillada afterward. The latter possibly more probable but not by much.

    I took a lot of heat for backing Thorn's high ranking earlier this season. Lostnumber did not agree with me or the high ranking. I'm not going to ask for an apology, but I would like him to admit that Thorn is damn good.

    At the time Thorn didn't deserve the lofty ranking, especially in the preseason. Now, he's earned it. November, not so much ... March, yes.

    I never said he wasn't good.. he simply wasn't deserving of such a high ranking at the time, and thats not even debatable.

    A lot of people dont seem to understand the difference between PREDICTIONS and RANKINGS. Rankings have nothing to do with a wrestlers potential to AA/win a title in the future, they are (or at least should be) based on actual accomplishments.


    Thorn has definitely earned the #3 seed at this point and I hope he does well, he's really improved from last year.

    I seem to remember a quote about Thorn being "criminally overranked". Potatos/potahtos, tomatoes/tomahtos, predictions/rankings... fair enough - but I think we can at least agree that the earlier ranking wasn't "criminal".

    I'll admit, I didn't think Thorn had a shot in hell in winning the Big 10's at the beginning of this year. I thought he was overrated at first, but he's definitely shown he deserves it after the season he's put together.

    It was. You just don't understand rankings. And I don't think we agree.

    By your logic the beginning of last year Jarrod King could have been ranked 1st and you would have been ok with it since in the end he was the champion.
