    NCAA
Hodge: Brent Metcalf (I would like to see Ness or Varner get it, but I think they'll stick with the Iowa guy)
Tournament OW: Jake Varner (I really have no idea. I'm hoping this for fantasy purposes)
Freshman of the Year: Kyle Dake (assuming he doesn't choke at NCAAs)
Gorrarian: Hudson Taylor (tough call over Ness, but he won it last year, so I'll stick with him)
Coach of the Year: Kevin Jackson

    Big 10
Wrestler of the Year: Brent Metcalf (I give it to him over Ness because Ness has missed so much time)
Freshman of the Year: Matt McDonough
Tournament OW: Jayson Ness (If he gets the 1st seed, I think he'll pin everyone but whoever he faces in the finals)
Coach of the Year: Goldman (I know Iowa will win the tourney, but Indiana has improved a ton from last year)

    Big 12
Wrestler of the Year: Jake Varner
Freshman of the Year: Andrew Long
    Tournament OW: Jake Varner
Coach of the Year: Kevin Jackson

I doubt this not because I don't think he'll win handily, because I think he will, but I think they will (and should) give it to the winner of one of the stronger weight classes.

I was actually just looking over some conference rankings, and rethinking my position on that one, actually. I think I'm going to switch and make OW Angel Escobedo, with a chance of it going to the winner at 133, who I think will be Ness. I just didn't want to give everything to Metcalf, lol.

Dake is a true freshman, and they may like to spread things around. I realize that McD is a very long shot, but what the heck.

Is this your way of saying that Jayson will run the table this year?
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.

Somebody tell me exactly what Jackson has done this year to be coach of the year even in the Big 12. ISU is exactly where everyone thought they would be. Second place a long ways behind Iowa. He inherited a top 3 team with all but one coming back.

THe best turnaround this year in the Big 12 with the same talent has been Spates. I know a lot of people as they are reading this are saying, but it's all Hensen. Maybe, but Spates is still the head coach so he should get the credit. Even Smith taking OSU from 16th to 3/4 this year so far has been pretty impressive.

Long has had a breakout year, but I don't know how good he was last year. Fanthorpe banged up, but has not impressed. Mueller claim to fame td on Metcalf but is 20-7 (last yr 24-9). Reader broke thru against M* but has still lost to M* and Howe again. Burke not at last year's level. Ward has breakthrough wins against banged up Keddy & Pucillo, but is 17-6 compared to 24-12 last yr (remember he still has Askren, Big 12's and NCAA's so record will probably even out). Varner is Varner has about the same amount of bonus this year as he did last year. 9 falls 5 major and a tech this year as opposed to 12 falls and 5 majors last year going into Big 12's. Granted he hasn't been upset this year. Zabriske is about the same as last. Hovering around top three all year.

I guess if some of them outperform at nationals maybe he's up for consideration, but I don't see giving him the award just because he's new.

I'm pretty sure anyone who makes a Hodge prediction is saying that. Unless they pick Metcalf, who may win it even if he loses.

I know people love to get their little cheap shots in, but no way would Metcalf win if he had a loss this year, unless everyone else also lost.
