    The Matchups:
125: #20 Nikko Triggas vs. Sean Boyle
133: Ian Paddock vs. Zach Stevens
141: #2 Reece Humphrey vs. Mark Weber
149: #2 Lance Palmer vs. Mark Boyle
157: Tony Jameson vs. Dave Johnson
165: #6 Colt Sponseller vs. Aaron Hynes
174: #12 Dave Rella vs. Justin Zeerip
184: #7 Mike Pucillo vs. Hunter Collins

I thought about writing a preview-ish thing, but Andrew Hipps has already written a nice one.

Fourth-ranked Ohio State is set to host Michigan tonight at 7 p.m. EST at St. John Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The dual meet will be broadcast on a same day delay at 11 p.m. EST tonight on the Big Ten Network. The Buckeyes are 14-1 in dual meets this season and a perfect 3-0 in Big Ten action. The Wolverines are 4-10 overall and 0-3 in the Big Ten.

Below is a weight-by-weight breakdown of tonight's dual meet.

    My Predictions:
125: #20 Nikko Triggas PIN Sean Boyle (6-0)
    Maybe just a decision

133: Ian Paddock MAJ Zach Stevens (9-0)
141: #2 Reece Humphrey TECH Mark Weber (14-0)
149: #2 Lance Palmer MAJ Mark Boyle (18-0)
    Possibly a pin.

157: Tony Jameson DEC Dave Johnson (21-0)
    Could be worse.

165: #6 Colt Sponseller MAJ Aaron Hynes (25-0)
    Or a tech.

174: #12 Dave Rella DEC Justin Zeerip (28-0)
Zeerip thumped him in Vegas, but Rella's looked good lately.

184: #7 Mike Pucillo TECH Hunter Collins (33-0)
Mike was very close to teching vs. Purdue. He should be close again.

197: #9 Anthony Biondo DEC CJ Magrum (33-3)
Shouldn't be too ugly, though. I'm very pleased with Magrum this year.

285: Corey Morrison MAJ Ben Apland (37-3)
    Maybe a pin.

OK, so maybe I got a little crazy with bonus points. Shouldn't be too close, though.

I can't imagine anything interesting happening in this dual.

Jameson always makes things interesting though.

Is this the weakest Michigan has been for a while?

Yes. One of my wrestlers was telling me how Michigan sucks and how great UVA was because they beat them twice this year.

I proceeded to inform him how since 2000 Michigan has had around 38 AA's with 3-ish champs while UVA has had like 4 AA's PERIOD.

    Very down year indeed.

Yeah this has to be one of the biggest down years in history for a program of their caliber. It's really kind of tough to see how it happened. They've have 3-4 guys that had a chance at winning it all for the last ?? years, and now the best guy they've got is Biondo. No disrespect to Biondo, but WTF?

Is Michigan a high pressure job? Or is it a school so focused on football that as long as occassional success occurs it is accepted?

State schools like Michigan and the Illini are among the schools that are really handicapped by the 9.9 scholarship limit and out of state tuition. It's tough recruiting out of state when the tab is 30,000 and there's tough admit standards and McFarland can only offer 25% or 50%. There just isn't enough talent in the State of Michigan to fill out CMU, State, the Wolverines and all of the others.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

Is this a change that has occured in the last 2-3 years? Because if this has been the case all along then it would seem as though it couldnt be this reasoning.

Part of it is youth, the breakdown of the 10 starters tonight is 1 true fresh, 2 true sophomores, 3 redshirt freshman, 2 redshirt sophomores and 2 redshirt juniors. Guys like Weber and Zeerip who were four-timers in Michigan need to develop, and they are redshirting Russell and Grajales this season. They other issue expands upon what RYou said. Borrelli is in Mount Pleasant turning out great teams year after year. You can go to CMU and compete on a national level and pay a tuition roughly half of what you would pay at U of M. Michigan needs to find a way to keep the better kids at home. Metcalf, Reader, Donahoe, Kyle Waldo at Nebraska, and next season losing Jackson Morse to Illinois and Ryan Nieman to Indiana. Hopefully the new facility they just built will help them recruit.
