like to have caught that 149 match...I can imagine Molinaro being pretty hard to funk.

Yeah, blame the ref. blah blah blah. Don't put yourself in a postion where the ref can alter the outcome. My 8 year old knows this.

Don't disagree... but give the match a view and tell me there weren't 4 calls that could have gone either way or should have been no calls. There was also 2 times that Mo "squealled" to get out of being turned for back pts. Would have like to see Ruschell more aggressive off the whistle at the end of the 3rd... but Mo took shots and hung on the foot until the ref called stalemate... if the ref hadn't stopped action when it was going Ruschell's way or Mo was stalling, or any of the 4 calls gone his way, different outcome.

...considering the way the match went... also can't understand a drop from 2 rank to 5... particularly when he still has the index points to keep him in 2nd.

Actually, there were 0 times Molinaro "squealed" to get out of being turned. The only time the match was stopped when Frank was in danger of giving up backs was during the flurry in the first period, and it was called potentially dangerous.

You can also argue that Molinaro was turned for two back points in the 2nd period, but I think the ref made the right call. I've replayed it several times and can't objectively get to a 2-count before Molinaro bellies out.

In the third period, Molinaro had an iron grip around a single leg each time the match was stopped for a stalemate. That's definitely to Ruschell's advantage; he has limited time to work with and it's very unlikely he breaks Frank's grip and scores 2. Even if you disagree, it's a stalemate call you see all of the time, and consistent refereeing.

Of course the match could have gone a different way if the ref had called it differently. That's an obvious statement and probably true of most matches between two wrestlers that are close in skill level. What you seem to be implying is that Ruschell got screwed by the ref and deserved to win, which isn't the case. It was a close match and both guys wrestled well, but Frank won the flurry in the first, which proved to be the deciding factor.
