Is he a championship contender at this point? Probably not but I think he is top 5-6.
I don't see how you can say thorn controlled the match, archuleta looked like he had thorn on the run most of the match to me... And just had a bigger gas tank he pushed the match no dopt to me....

I'll have to go back and watch it because I saw Thorn attacking the entire match, which ultimately got him taken down at the end of regulation. I certainly could be wrong.

141 is the most turbulent weight class out there right now. Everybody is beating everybody else and most matches are very close. I'd have to say anyone of the top 6 or 8 wrestlers has almost an even chance to hit the podium at NCAAs and that includes Thorn. Be prepared for lots of upsets in the 141 bracket.

Much like last year, when 4 of the top 5 seeds didn't even reach the quarters.

The Minnesota v. Wisconsin match is being replayed on BTN right now and I finally got to see the post match celebration that Thorn was being so thoroughly castigated for over at TheMat.

Looked to me like he was excited after getting a big tech fall to open the dual up for his team and was trying to get his home crowd into it. Gave a little yell, a few make some noise arm pumps, and then popped himself in the chest a few times as he ran off the mat.

For fans of a certain team who like to paint Thorn as a guy who is pretty insignificant and hasn't had any good wins during his career they seem to think an awful lot about him if they get as fired up as I saw some people be over something as innocuous as this.

Didn't you start a thread related to a rather innocuous Metcalf situation just a few weeks ago? Hmmmm...

It's a case of people hating it when it's done by others, but defending the kids on their team who do it. Example: Minnesota fans who attack Morningstar but defend both Schlatters, and Iowa fans doing the reverse.

Thorn's the guy you hate on the other team, but love when he's on your team.

I started a thread asking if Metcalf really simulated masturbation as he ran off the mat.

I wasn't watching the Iowa v. Iowa State dual and was interested to hear if it really did actually occur as it seemed out of character for Metcalf to have done it.

I don't believe I got out of sorts about it, all I was doing was asking a question.
