No real issues so far. So far we're 14/16 in terms of picking the same guys to make the stand.

Just a little different in the order.

    141
    1. Reece Humphrey
    2. Montell Slaton AKA Joe Marion
    3. Kyle Dake
    4. Alex Krom
    5. Zack Bailey
    6. Jamal Parks
    7. Filip Novachkov
    8. Chris Drouin
R12 Mike Thorn, Chris Diaz, Levi Jones, Cole Schmitt(left field hope fantasy pick)

Reece Humphrey has looked great this whole year save a pretty bad National Duals where I think he was sick. He’s good in all 3 positions and while I’ve never been as high on him as some I feel like he goes out on top of a weight that is not terribly impressive.
    <o></o>
If it’s Joe Slaton I feel significantly more confident about this pick, though I believe that Marion has a great chance. Joe is a great iowa style guy when he’s looking his best and watching his midlands performance I was quite impressed that he’s still “got it.” While Marion has had some consistency problems I feel like he has the leg attacks, riding ability and is good enough from down to beat anyone. This is somewhat left field yet when you look at the field it’s not so off.
    <o></o>
Dake has looked really nice this year beating everybody put in front of him. He burst on the scene when he body locked Krom and hasn’t looked back. This is a great finish for him in his first NCAAs and I think he comes very close to making the finals. He doesn’t have typical freshmen problems like getting out from bottom, getting gassed, etc and no moment seems to big for him. We shall see if he can close his year properly.
    <o></o>
Krom is a guy who has taken his lumps this year for sure and has missed some time. I feel like he’ll be back in full effect and ride the momentum of his ACC championship to place again at this weight. He’s an explosive/athletic horsepower type of guy. I think he understands to take his losses in perspective and doesn’t live and die with them.
    <o></o>
Bailey has surprised quite a few people, myself included this year but has knotched some fine wins and some tight losses to the nations best. I like what Oklahoma has been doing and I see this kid to continue to improve as the year progresses ending with an AA. You can see Sammie Henson has been doin some good work with this kid.
    <o></o>
Jamal is a guy with limitless athleticism but a weak gas tank and the occasional moments of offensive anemia. I see him outclassing his way to the podium but he will lose at least ONE match at NCAAs because he struggles from bottom. He doesn’t really ride, so his reliance on his leg attacks can occasionally bite him. IF he fires off some more shots he could do better than this place, but at this point Jamal is who he is.
    <o></o>
Filip has quite a few good wins and his strength from all positions and the difficulty he presents guys with great shot defense should get him on the podium. He’s had quite a few head scratching losses when he gets into shoot outs and gets sloppy.
    <o></o>
This is not a fantastic weight and will have quite a few guys in the cusp of AAing and many guys on this list wouldn’t surprise me terribly if the find themselves off the podium. I had Mike thorn 5th at one point then I talked myself out of him AAing altogether.
    <o></o>
Drouin has not looked quite himself this year but I just have a feeling that he and Shawn Charles are too good of a combo to not make the podium again. Honestly he has wrestled countless ranked guys beating Diazx2, Parks, Bailey, Schmitt and Hump. I think the gauntlet he’s run this regular season prepares him for NCAAs.

    149
    1. Brent Metcalf
    2. Kyle Ruschell
    3. Lance Palmer
    4. Kyle Terry
    5. Kevin Levalley
    6. Frank Molinaro
    7. Kyle Borshoff
    8. Mitch Mueller

R12- Jason Chamberlain, Matt Kyler, Tony D’Alie, Desi Green
    <O></O>
Metcalf has looked very good this entire year, not quite as dominant as last year but I think that’s partially a different approach and people knowing what is coming. He has shown he can be slown down but never stopped. Lance Palmer is the only guy with the tools to beat him and I feel as though Brent is in his head. We all know where Brent is good and why he’s good so I will not elaborate unnecessarily.
    <O></O>
Kyle is someone who when you think about it should be a tough match up for Brent based on guys who have given him tough matches. Lanky? Check. Tough to score on? Check. Ties up hands, wrists? Check. Yet whenever they wrestle it’s never close, so maybe he just isn’t as good a match up. He’s gotten a lot better and is very solid. Got put on his back this weekend and wrestled back tough. That says a lot about the guy. I think he has surpassed lance this year and will play 2nd fiddle to Metcalf the rest of the year.
    <O></O>
Watching Lance ride legs is very fun for me to watch. He’s a big strong dude with lots of horsepower. He and Ruschell will have their battles and I believe he beats Kyle once this year. His handfighting is top knotch and he will fire off some impressive shots and is an underated scrambler in my opinion. Lance finishes his great career with his 4th AA and improves on his highest previous finish.
    <O></O>
I’ve said that I like Oklahoma and what they’re doing this year so this prediction should come as no surprise. Terry has notched some great wins over Kyler, Levalley, Molinaro and Mueller. His losses have come to only Lance Palmer this year who for that reason will place above Kyle. He’s an aggressive guy who has shown he can compete with the best and really he ranked himself for me.
    <O></O>
Kevin Levalley generated a lot of discussion when he held Metcalf to a 3-2 match. While that’s closer than many will this year, I still feel like this is an appropriate placement for him. He’s tough as nails to take down, and a very good rider. That’ll get him pretty far and I think it gets him above Frank.
    <O></O>
Molinaro has looked very good and consistent this year. I predict him to improve on his placement this year. His inability to finish shots gives me pause and is why I placed him behind Levalley. He has wrestled 3 matches against AA caliber guys and has lost two of them. I see him improving a bit as the year progresses with more time under Caels leadership and wrestling with some top notch guys in his room.

Borshoff is another guy you don’t see that much but when you do he looks pretty good. Watching him beat Lance is the reason I put him on this list because he has not been extremely stellar of late. I still think he outclasses the field somewhat and gets on the podium.

    <O></O>
This is probably my biggest stretch but I really feel like Mueller has a good style and will get on the podium. He’s good on his feet and has a wide variety of takedowns. While he was punished by Brent for taking him down I’m sure the dumptrucking he received has pushed him and you’ve seen some improvement on his part.
    <O></O>
As for my R12 guys I feel like this is a pretty weak class in terms of depth and I had to really go down the list to find the guys I felt would make it. One of those guys could potentially get on the podium but I don’t see them as interchangeable as 41 was. Kyler is probably the guy I would predict to get on the podium but he’s a guy who in his big challenges he’s lost. I see this weight as the big 3 then Terry and Levalley as being 2nd tier then it really becomes less impressive.

    157

    1. JP Oconnor(DS if he drops)
    2. Cyler Sanderson(JPO if DS and so on)
    3. Adam Hall
    4. Steve Fittery
    5. Jesse Dong
    6. Bryce Saddoris
    7. Chase Pami
    8. Thomas Scotton

    R12-Moley, Erisman, Vernon, Jonny bonilla-bowman
    <O></O>
JPO impressed me greatly when he physically manhandled Cyler. He never lights it up but knows who he is and that should be enough to get it done. He?s unbeaten and has given me no reason to remove him from the list despite him not wrestling
    <O></O>
This is a pick I?m not terribly confident in but I like the way Cyler wrestles and I see him making the finals after he wins the Big 10?s. He has some problems getting horsed around but he makes up for it with superior technique and great scrambling. I see him going out with a stellar NCAA tournament. He impressed me a lot when he beat Hall and his loss to Dong while concerning, I feel is a tribute to Dong being quite good.
    <O></O>
Adam is kind of a JPO type of wrestler nothing flashy but works hard, pushes pace and gets lots of wins. I think he has surpassed Pami and will ride the momentum of a pac 10 championship to a 3rd place finish.
    <O></O>
Steve who? Who was this guy 2 months ago? A guy I had to listen to Lost bitch about when he beat Steve Brown by 4. Watching him wrestle though I really like his scrambling ability that is a signature of most American wrestlers these days. He could make the finals but I see him being figured out a bit more now that he?s on peoples radar.
    <O></O>
VT will get on the podium with their best wrestler Jesse Dong. He?s a crafty fellow with some great leg riding and scrambling. That?s a recipe for success at NCAAs and he?s notched some nice wins over saddoris and Sanderson to name a few. I like his style and if he doesn?t flake as many VT guys have been known to do I see him AAing.
    <O></O>
Bryce hadn?t found his groove early on at 157 but even though he?s had 9 losses he?s still managed to beat Moley, Pami and Shuster. I like him to get back on track and AA when he realizes he belongs with these guys. Being on my fantasy will give him the momentum he needs to get on the podium.
    <O></O>
Pami AA?d last year and placed high and surprised me a lot. He?s not gone unscathed but he?s shown he knows how to peak when it matters. While he won?t win conf. again in my opinion he should still get seeded and will place again, though not as high.
    <O></O>
Scotton has a few GREAT wins but has faltered a bit of late highlighted by the head scratching 9-0 blanking from Kyle John. I think he believes he can AA and possibly he could place higher than this, but I don?t see it.
    <O></O>
This will be a really interesting weight in my opinion with an extremely level playing field. There are several guys who wouldn?t surprise me if they made the finals but I feel really good about JPO being a small cut above. Obviously DS makes things more interesting but we shall see.

Hamlin fills things out here for the time being. He burst onto the scene with a 17-8 major over David Erwin in his first ever match displaying a very funky aggressive style. Since that match he's also put wins up over Rella, and Jeff James. Then he has been defeated by Dwyer, Letts, Borschel, Manuel, and Benefiel. He's a guy who still has a lot of upside to tap into here over the second half of the year and I like it to carry him to an All American slot as a true freshman.
Love your pick for Hamlin, I am pretty sure that he would be Vermont's first ever AA, but he is a Redshirt Frosh
