Default Rematch: Cornell vs Maryland, v2.0

So, tomorrow at 9 am (CST) is a rematch between Cornell and Maryland.

Results from when they wrestled in November:

    Maryland 18, Cornell 17
125 - Frank Perrelli (Cornell) dec. James Knox (Maryland), 4-2 (Cornell 3, Maryland 0)
133 - No. 8 Steven Bell (Maryland) dec. No. 6 Mike Grey (Cornell), 4-3 (Cornell 3, Maryland 3)
141 - No. 8 Kyle Dake (Cornell) dec. No. 4 Alex Krom (Maryland), 8-3 (Cornell 6, Maryland 3)
149 - Corey Manson (Cornell) dec. Jon Kohler (Maryland), 11-7 (Cornell 9, Maryland 3)
157 - Kyle John (Maryland) dec. DJ Meagher (Cornell), 4-1 (Cornell 9, Maryland 6)
165 - Josh Asper (Maryland) dec. John Basting (Cornell), 8-6 (Cornell 9, Maryland 9)
174 - No. 2 Mack Lewnes (Cornell) tech fall No. 4 Mike Letts (Maryland), 18-3 (7:00) (Cornell 14, Maryland 9)
184 ? No. 20 Steve Bosak (Cornell) dec. Corey Peltier (Maryland), 4-0 (Cornell 17, Maryland 9)
197 - No. 3 Hudson Taylor (Maryland) win by fall No. 5 Cam Simaz (Cornell), 4:45 (Cornell 17, Maryland 15)
HWT - Patrick Gilmore (Maryland) dec. No. 12 Josh Arnone (Cornell), 6-4 SV (Cornell 17, Maryland 18)

So many of these matches could go the other way.... I'm thinking...

    125 - same result
    133 - total toss-up
141 - this one intrigues me. Krom was in control of their last match until the huge throw at the end, but Dake was also favoring his knees, and I'm not sure what kind of mental state Krom will be in after getting pinned today. I would love to see a matchup if they are both wrestling their best. But after today's results, I have to give the edge to Dake.
149 - probably same result. I didn't think Kohler looked that great today but I didn't really watch Manson either...
157 - Basting instead of Meagher. I'll go with John here.
    165 - another tossup, I'll take Asper
174 - Lewnes again, at least a major
    184 - Bosak again
197 - Hudson again, by decision
    HWT - Arnone

I'm too lazy at the moment to add that up and see what team result that would be...

Today I was wearing a Cornell t-shirt underneath a Maryland sweatshirt. I guess tomorrow I'll wear something Iowa.

Lewnes won't major Letts. It'll be a nice, comfortable decision, though. Just like their last match.

I think Dake has improved even more throughout the season, and takes a 1 point match over Krom. And I just don't trust Mike Grey in big matches, so I think Bell beats him again.

    Cornell 19, Maryland 15
    125 - Frank Perelli dec (C) James Knox (M) 9-3
    133 - Mike Grey maj dec (C) Steve Bell (M) 11-3
    141 - Kyle Dake (C) dec Alex Krom (M) 5-4
    149 - Corey Manson dec (C) Jon Kohler (M) 8-4
    157 - Kyle John (M) dec John Basting (C) 6-3
    165 - Josh Asper (M) dec Justin Kerber (C) 9-4
    174 - Mack Lewnes (C) dec Mike Letts (M) 8-2
    184 - Steve Bosak (C) dec Corey Peltier (M) 9-3
    197 - Hudson (M) fall over George Kocher (C) 4:42
HWT - Pat Gilmore (M) dec Josh Arnone (C) 7-1

Score was close to their first match but the match didn't seem close at all. 133 was the biggest difference. Kinda strange that Cornell seemed (to me) to dominate that match overall, but switch the result at 133 and it turns out differently.

Maryland just seemed flat to me today. Bright spots were Asper and Gilmore. Dake-Krom was a disappointing match, I was hoping for more action.

Uh oh what will terp's excuse be today?
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

I'm not sure what Krom-Dake match was disappointing. It was a great match. Krom was leading 4-0 after 1 on a TD and what seemed a really quick count for 2 NF.
But Dake fought back to win 5-4. He is incredible on top.
