J Rob's finances have been intertwined with current and former wrestlers over the years (i.e., rental properties, real estate, The Wrestling Mall). So far, he has successfully walked the line to avoid major issues, but it only takes one mistake... should be interesting to see if anything comes out of this investigation.
Is it illegal for young kids to buy houses if you wrestle?it is not like J or the U paid for these propertys. He is a smart guy that does well and that has little to do with his U paycheck. He doesn't have a contract with the U. It is year to year and has been for years

NCAA Bylaw 12.1.2.1.4.3.1 allows members of an Olympic team to receive all nonmonetary benefits and awards provided to members of an Olympic team beyond actual and necessary expenses.

Additionally, 12.1.2.1.4.1.2, 12.1.2.1.5.1 and 12.1.2.1.4.3.2 allow an individual to receive Operation Gold money from the USOC.

If it was outside of those perameters, it's a pretty clear violation of the NCAA's amateurism rules and Minnesota should have been working with him while this was going on to avoid issues.

Never said there is a violation here. NCAA just doesn't look kindly when a coach's finances are interwined with a student-athlete or prospect's. J Rob has been able to walk this line successfully to date. What does his contract terms or lack there of have anything to do with this?

It's not illegal, it's frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane.
I'm pretty sure that's illegal too.
Yeah, maybe after 9/11, where everybody got so sensitive. Thanks a lot, Bin Laden.
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

Um Champ, indecent exposure IS VERY illegal last time I checked, (not just frowned upon). If you keep it in yer pants it's only LEWD & LASCIVIOUS behavior but if it's out, 10 will get you 20....

Because you have no knowledge of the situation and he could walk away from coaching at the U and still be one of the biggest names in amature wrestling with the Mall and camps. Although a new venue would be in order. He did not rip on the NCAA like you said he did. He thought the punishment was extreme like all or most did. You were saying it doesn't look good as in your point of view which is limited otherwise you would of been talking about this before. Am I right?

That post is borderline nonsensical. What are you trying to say? What does J's ability or non-ability to walk away from Minny have anything to do with anything?

J is an old guy that most likely not get rattled by NCAA easily. You never got a deal offered like this kids did to buy these houses and so you feel there has to be something underhanded in the works. He doesn't seem worried about it because he is a tough ol cuss that has the upperhand. According to the Law these house were bought and sold with the proper paperwork from what I understand so no criminal element is involved. If the NCAA gets involved and trys to put their thumb on J he will tell them to screw you I would think
