All signs (and some pretty reliable people on The Guillotine forum) point towards the waiting game on the NCAA clearing him. The Mason thing is getting me a little more nervous given the buzz.
What is the buzz on Mason right now?

This is all based off of nothing more than chatter on other forums and talking to a couple people at the match yesterday....Mason may have run into some trouble with violating a "training rule". Don't know if it is team imposed or from the NCAA. Again, not completely confirmed so take with a grain of salt.

We're not having the best of luck with the Blair kids I guess....hopefully it is a short term hiccup and not a big deal.

Never said I had the answers. Moreless saying your answer is wrong. If i had to be i'd say he is working out paying back his Olympic winnings and just waiting to be cleared by NCAA.

about 99.9999999% sure concussions are not what is keeping Jake out of the lineup at this point

Story I heard today is he has had 8 concussions if that is the case we may never see jake Deitchler again on the mat. after my 3rd concussion my football days were over so I think it could be a possibility. It may hurt everybodys ears as it did mine but there is something going on.

OK, let me prefice this by saying that I'm not trying to question or disregard what you were told. The fact is I've gotta go with Lost on this one and say signs point towards something other than the concussions.

The reason I say this is (as mentioned earlier in the thread) that I spoke to Jake in person a week before Xmas and he told me that the doctor cleared him that day.....two weeks later he's wrestling at Midlands, placing high, and nothing indicated he got a concussion there. That said, if he had anything above the three concussions you referenced....no doctor this side of that guy who treated Michael Jackson would clear a kid with 4-8 concussions to wrestle in an elite tourny like the Midlands. What is going on in the NFL with concussions has the magniflying glass in full effect.

Just going by what I was told firsthand by Deitchler and what seems to be the case since then.....no rumors or speculation (at least not too much).

I pray that you are right because i have experianced head trama, to this day i am deaf in my right ear and cannot look up at the sky and run without the ground moving on me. I was released by the docter and was given the ok and three days later woke up with an ear ache and was deaf. As an outfielder in baseball my baseball days were over since i could not run after a fly ball without falling down. I played football the following fall and got hit and the dizziness came back. I was done for the year. I hid the fact that i could not maintain my balance until I got another bell ringer the following year and it was over for me as a ball player. I think it is possible for him to have problems since a week before X-mas. My sources are respected HS coaches in minnesota that are in tune with the wrestling program at the U. One coach stated "I think his career as a wrestler is over" which hit me like a ton of bricks. My heart sank for the kid. We all know Jake is a physical guy and it is possible to have reoccuring concussions as i experianced them myself. I pray that this is untrue. I hope i become the laughing stock of the forum and he gets in the line-up ready to rock and roll. It is all here say so you know how storys can grow out of nothing sometimes so hopefully this is one of those times
