Gosh, thanks Zapp. Does this mean you also no longer think I'm a Poophead? 2010 will be a banner year indeed if you and Lost both like me again.

Did I not like you at some point? If so, then sure, all is forgiven!

Oh, ok. Well, I think I was probably joking, but if not, yes, I am back in love with you (and Fanforlife). Congratulations, lady. Not everyone gets that designation from the Zapper.

2nd half, and Top 5 individual match ups

#3 Ohio State v. US Arizona State
125: Anthony Robles tech Nikko Triggas 5-0 Arizona State
133: Ben Ashmore dec Ian Paddock 8-0 Arizona State
141: Reece Humphrey dec Chris Drouin 8-3 Arizona State
149: Lance Palmer maj Vicente Varela 8-7 Arizona State
157: Sean Nemec dec Michael Swigart 10-8 Ohio State
165: Colt Sponseller maj Kyle Deberry 14-8 Ohio State
174: Dave Rella dec Eric Starks 17-8 Ohio State
184: Mike Pucillo maj Jake Meredith 21-8 Ohio State
197: Cody Magrum dec Anthony Pike 24-8 Ohio State
285: Erik Nye dec Corey Morrison 24-11 Ohio State

Some decent match ups here. While I'm predicting Ashmore to beat Paddock here I can definitely see where Gold is coming from in predicting the win as Tom Ryan has shown quite a touch in handling true freshmen especially over second halves of seasons.

    #6 Cornell v. US Wisconsin
125: Troy Nickerson maj Drew Hammen 4-0 Cornell
133: Tyler Graff dec Mike Grey 4-3 Cornell
141: Kyle Dake dec Cole Schmitt 7-4 Cornell
149: Kyle Ruschell dec Corey Manson 7-7
157: Derek Schreiner dec Greg Burke 10-7 Cornell
165: Andrew Howe dec Justin Kerber 10-10
174: Mack Lewnes fall Jim Duffy 16-10 Cornell
184: Steve Bosak dec Travis Rutt 19-10 Cornell
197: Cam Simaz dec Trevor Brandvold 22-10 Cornell
285: Josh Arnone dec Eric Bugenhagen 25-10 Cornell

Should be a back and forth battle down in the lower weights. If Nickerson doesn't wrestle then Perrelli should still beat Hammen but he may not get the major. Graff on the other hand if he comes out like the madman that he was at Midlands could major Grey. Dake may also get bonuses against Schmitt. Lewnes fall at 174 will in all likelihood just set the tone for the rest of the way.

#7 Maryland v. US Northern Iowa
125: Terrance Young dec James Knox 3-0 UNI
133: Steve Bell maj Ryan Jauch 4-3 Maryland
141: Alex Krom maj Trent Washington 8-3 Maryland
149: Jamal Lawrence dec Jon Kohler 8-6 Maryland
157: Tyson Reiner dec Kyle John 9-8 UNI
165: Josh Asper dec David Bonin 11-9 Maryland
174: Mike Letts dec Jarion Beets 14-9 Maryland
184: Corey Peltier dec Andy O'Loughlin 17-9 Maryland
197: Hudson Taylor maj Dustin Bauman 21-9 Maryland
285: Christian Brantley dec Pat Gilmore 21-12 Maryland

This one looks a lot closer right here than it is probably going to wind up beings as I basically gave anything even resembling a toss up to UNI and I may be being a little stingy on bonuses for Bell, Letts, and Taylor. Regardless Maryland should move on without a lot of trouble.

#2 Iowa State v. UR Bloomsburg
125: Andrew Long maj Jason Guffey 4-0 Iowa State
133: Nick Fanthorpe dec Jeremiah Biddle 7-0 Iowa State
141: Dalton Jensen dec Dan Gaylord 10-0 Iowa State
149: Mitch Mueller dec Josh Roosa 13-0 Iowa State
157: Matt Moley maj Andrew Sorenson 13-4 Iowa State
165: Jon Reader dec Rick Schmelyun 16-4 Iowa State
174: Duke Burk dec Mike Dessino 19-4 Iowa State
184: Jerome Ward dec Derek Coffey 22-4 Iowa State
197: Jake Varner fall Brian Shaw 28-4 Iowa State
285: David Zabriskie dec Zach Walsh 31-4 Iowa State

My biggest overall intrigue involving this dual doesn't really have anything to do with the match result or the overall match score as Iowa State should win handily. What I'm most interested to see is how many points Reader and Schmelyun put up on the board and to see how long it lasts. That should be a really good match that could end really quickly.

    Top 5 Individual Match Ups
    1. Jay Borschel v. Stephen Dwyer
    2. Tyler Graff v. Mike Grey
    3. Dustin Schlatter v. Nick Marable
    4. Jon Reader v. Rick Schmelyun
    5. Reece Humphrey v. Chris Drouin

    Quarterfinals
    #1 Iowa v. #8 Boise State
    #4 Central Michigan v. #5 Minnesota
    #3 Ohio State v. #6 Cornell
    #2 Iowa State v. #7 Maryland

I hate picking a chalk bracket for the first round but I just don't see an upset call (unlike last year's ridiculously easy Boise State over Wisconsin pick) here in the bracket. Seeded teams should cruise.

Last year they were tape delayed by about a week on ESPNU and then year's before that they were shown live on the webcast and I think may have shown up on TV much later.

    That's why I ask.
