Default Attend RTOC or Graduation Commencement?

Which would you attend if you were a graduating senior?

I'm pretty sure most people here would easily choose wrestling. I would expect that 99% of college wrestlers would choose to wrestle. When I was wrestling, I too would never even consider not wrestling.

However, as I get older and put things into perspective, I think I would encourage a graduating senior to attend the graduation ceremony. There are so many tournaments and matches that they all run together after a few years pass. But, there is only one opportunity to be honored at a graduation ceremony for years of hard work in the classroom. That memory will last forever.

Wrestling should be a very high priority for any wrestler, but it should never be the highest priority.

    What are your thoughts?

Definitely attend the tournament. Who wants to sit for 3 hours and listen to names and some random speaker..

I've been to a lot of graduation ceremonies, my own and others, and I can't remember much that I gained from any of them. They are almost always overrated.
But if this is your first undergraduate ceremony, and you are graduating and your family will be there, then that's special, too, if not for you, then for your family.

A lot of things in life SUCK-but some are rites of passage you must undertake -commencement is one of those . Just as Prom is -35 years later and I can still feel the pressure of pinning the corsage on my date -back then you had to pin it upon her breast -with her parents watching and taking photos -PRESSURE-and about that time you'll hear a Booingg and get a familiar sensation in your pants -on FILM--with the parents watching , and the little brother and sister , and the cat .
Deal with it -go to commencement and sweat off 5 pounds .

I missed my college graduation 10 years ago and I haven't regretted it for even one second.

I went to my commencement, fortunately for most of us, our commencement is in late May and in no jeopardy of having a scheduling conflict with wrestling.
