Default Why not show Oklahoma & Oklahoma State on webcast

I am not sure why they wouldn't want to show this match on webcast so wrestling junkies across the nation could enjoy this great rivalry. Who knows this might pick up new fans & help promote wrestling. Not complaining just a random thought.

Since last years CK I have been a huge proponent of just such a thing . Most sites have a $15 a month package which is good and bad/ why not have a per match basis of say $3 to watch on your computer ?
Would I pay to watch IU wrestle Liberty -HELL NO !! Would I pay $3 to watch IU/Purdue ? HELL YES !!
The technology has existed for years -bypass the Networks and support wrestling by mandating 30% of all proceeds go to the Governing body .
if 30,000 people -which is a low #, bought that package there is $90,000 for Wrestling -after the 70% to the sponsors - you are looking at a $10,000 per event profit -say 5 events a month and there is $50,000.00 a month.

Payton not be a negative nancy, but there is no way in hell 30,000 people are going to pay to watch a wrestling meet... Those numbers are whack.

I remember PT discussing how the All-Star would get a few hundred buys on LSV, and thats for an event which appeals to ALL wrestling fans, not just fans in a particular state (not many outside of Indiana care about IU vs Purdue..)
    Gold is an idiot.

I don't think 30,000 is a number that should be looked at as impossible. Maybe for small duals and stuff, but if the NCAA put out a system that was all inclusive for major duals, tournaments, etc.. and charged $9.99 a month (or options to instead purchase select duals) I could easily see 30-40k people sign up. TWT gets > 40k people/day during the NCAAs, so that tournament alone if managed via webcast would draw quite the following.

Spreading the service out over each University will make it significantly less of a marketing power because the purchase isn't made in one location.

Would making all of D1 wrestling on-demand be a good thing? No... but it definitely *could* make them 400k + a season.

I thought so too-, that # is .0001 of the population and I am willing to wager there exist 30,000 high school and Jr.high wrestlers who would pay and learn at the same time .

Schlottke has a valid point why not make major duals available, the individual sign ups for Minnesota, Iowa State just as an example doesn't make sense when I can sign up for CSTV for $14.95 a month and have access to many teams. If I sign up for clone zone I am paying $9.95 for one match for the month. Yes I might go ahead and pay just to be able to see the match between Iowa & Iowa State. The match I believe is on IPTV. Trying not to ramble and hope I am making a point.
