That is my only guess.
He's looked very good at tournaments so far this year (where he could eat as the day went on), and then unreal wrestling freestyle this summer (where he weighed in the day before).
In duals so far with 1 hour weigh ins he's had the underwhelming match with Ashmore, and then a match where he was good but not great against Ekstrom.
After the lackluster performance of OSU ealier this week, I predict Minnesota will destroy OSU. Notice I've got Sonny at 197 to tire-out the Russian.
125 MN Sanders Maj 4-0
133 MN Ness Fall 10-0
141 MN Thorn Dec 13-0
149 MN Mason Dec 16-0
157 OSU Erisman Dec 16-3
165 MN DS Maj 20-3
174 MN Glasser Dec 23-3
184 OSU Fall 23-9
197 MN Yohn Maj 27-9
HWT OSU Dec 27-12
Glasser over James? Yohn MAJORS Gelogaev bumping up a weight?
I take it you're an OSU fan?
Jeff James is a Sooner, not a Cowboy.
Glasser will have Chris McNeil, the guy James majored last night.
Gold, Here's my thinking. Sonny Yohn at 84 would be a close match, could go either way. I'm not sold on Nord at 97 right now. The cutting seems to be to much for him, and the Russian may very well catch him in the first. MN could end up losing a dec & fall to OSU at those two weights. A dec & fall makes MN -9
But, the Russian seems to be having the same problems with cutting. I say we send the highly conditioned Yohn up to 97 and let him wear out the Russian, Yohn should be able to score big in the 3rd when the Russian is gassed to get the major. So even if Yohn-lite gets pinned at 84, the real Yohn's major will make MN -2
Just read No JAKE at 157 -that could be a 9 point swing .
