That's a bummer. We want both teams healthy for this dual.

125 McD dec Long 3-0 Iowa
Both of these kids look tough as nails right now. This match is worth the price of admission itself. Since I have no idea who will win, I'm picking the Iowa guy since Iowa State usually loses the big matches to Iowa. Toss up.

133 Dennis maj dec Fanthorpe 7-0 Iowa
I originally called this a decision but with Dennis coming out like gangbusters and Fanthorpe not wrestling a match yet I think it will be a win by maj decision. I personally don't think we will see Nick wrestle which will make this outcome even better for Iowa.

141 LeClere dec Gallick 10-0 Iowa
LeClere has never lost to Gallick and I don't see him starting now. Those matches were two years ago and Gallick has gotten better, but so has Dan. It's not like he wrestled scrubs every day last year while riding pine. It will be a very close match though.

149 Metcalf WBF Mueller 16-0 Iowa
Each time these two wrestle the outcome gets progressively worse for Mueller. Last time it was TF. This time it will be a fall.

157 Jansen dec Carr 19-0 Iowa
I have not seen Jansen wrestle yet but Carr didnt look that good when I saw him at the Cyclone Open. I think Iowa State would be wise to wrestle Sorenson. Carr has been dinged up and so has Jansen. I'm a Hawk fan so I'm taking Jansen.

165 Morningstar dec Reader 22-0 Iowa
Ryan is 3-0 against Reader so I have to pick him. This match give me an uneasy feeling because of Readers attacking style and Morningstars turtle wrestling, but for some reason Ryan has always been able to neutralize Readers advances. I hope the outcome stays the same.

174 Borschel maj dec Burke 26-0 Iowa
Jay is on a mission this year and I dont think he will lose to anyone. Burke really hasnt done much but hold his spot on the varsity team since joining the Clones. Jay is 100% healthy right now and is back to his dominating ways.

184 Keddy dec Ward 29-0 Iowa
Since Ward lost to Gambrall earlier this year and failed to take a shot with 20 seconds left while trailing I will never pick him to win a big match like this one. He will however keep it close because he great at blocking off and backing up. I personally would love to see Curran take this spot this year.

197 Varner dec Beatty 29-3 Iowa
Iowa State finally gets on the board with Varner. Beatty is good and has shown he can hang with the big dogs, minus Varner, but he has not shown he can beat them yet. I am hoping that this is his healthy year to get over the hump. As of right now Varner is the man and may get bonus points.

HWT Zabriskie dec Johnson 29-6 Iowa
I have to believe that Zabriskie is refocused after his loss to Montiero. I think an active Johnson plays into his hands. Z will capitalize on rookie mistakes and win this one with no problem. I am hoping Iowa sends out Raising. He is bigger and I thinnk his style presents more obsticles for Zabriskie since he is a small HWT.

I realize these are all homer picks but if Iowa went to Ames, in what is supposed to be a close dual and came out huge winners, it wouldnt be the first time. I like KJ and the excitement he has brought to the program. I am even excited to a point for Cyclone wrestling and I have never been. Douglas and Sanderson werent exactly the most inspirational when speaking to the public. KJ has brought a little fire back to Ames. These picks are obviously the way I would like to see it. I'm not sure it will happen that way. Either way I will be there throwin my fingers up yelling...TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There is definitely a chance for the difference in team points to be a hell of a lot higher than the difference in match points.
You do the math..... I'll do the alfredo!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Wasnt there a dual like two years ago where Iowa beat ISU 24-6 or something ridiculous, but every match was ~2 point difference?
    Gold is an idiot.

as much as I dislike Herkey I cant really say his predictions are too outlandish... except for LeClere over gallick. Now granted, Gallick is a apparently injured, so that might be a factor. But claiming that wins over Gallick two years ago are going to give LeClere success now is pretty laughable. Gallick was one of the most improved wrestlers in the NCAA from soph-junior and is a 2x AA, while Leclere is 3rd on the Iowa depth chart.
    Gold is an idiot.

Lost, LeClere is third on the Iowa depth chart behind a NCAA runner up and the guy who beat them both. He made the tournament as a sophomore and went 2 and BBQ. He is certainly a better wrestler than that and he showed it throught that season. He beat Gallick twice. I find it laughable that you think that Gallick can improve but LeClere cannot.

I don't see this being all that close w/out Gallick and Fanthorpe
    125 Long 3-0
    133-Denis 4-3
    141 Leclere 7-3
    149 Metcalf 13-3
    157 Carr 13-6
    165 M* 16-6
    174 Borscel-20-6
    184 Keddy 23-6
    197 Varner 23-9
    Hwt -Zabriskie 26-9
Does anyone know how healthy M* is ? He did not wrestle against Rendos last week .
