Those who watched him at Binghamton last weekend were very impressed at the improvement he's already made.

Josh Asper is another freshman (though a redshirt freshman) that I've heard two Div I coaches say could be a four time all american.

Looks more and more likely that TNick will be on the mat Friday night. Someone close to the room put the odds at better than 80% that TNick wrestles.

Here's an excerpt from an article in The Ithaca Journal today:

In addition to having standouts like Nickerson and junior Mack Lewnes, who was ranked No. 1 at 165 pounds for much of last season, there's a talented group of newcomers, led by Lansing native and freshman Kyle Dake, a two-time New York state champion who's already earned some high praise from his coach.

"People have been giving me grief for calling him the second coming of Troy, because it puts a lot of pressure on him, but winners can handle that," Koll said. "If I don't expect it of him, how can he believe it himself?"

Cornell opens with a dual meet against No. 10 Maryland at 6:30 p.m. Friday. It's a matchup of two top-10 programs, and one featuring four bouts where both wrestlers are ranked in the top 10 in their weight class.

"Just about every match could go either way," Koll said.

Koll believes the key Friday will be Nickerson scoring bonus points, and the team coming out on top in close matches at 174 pounds, where Lewnes, ranked second, will take on fifth-ranked Mike Letts.

That article also talks about Nickerson wanting to win the Hodge this year, wouldn't he need to compete more than just here and there to be considered? Any chance he wrestles in the Body Bar?

Good to see Troy back in the lineup, could definitely swing the dual to Cornell

Any Terp fans know if Krom is wrestling vs Cornell, @ the Body Bar AND The NWCA.

He is scheduled for the NWCA which starts @ 2 pm Cal time Sunday. He will be hard pressed to jump on a plane Sat night in NY after the BB tourney to get to Cali in time for Suandays match.

Would have to guess that he'll probably wrestle in the dual, and then roll out on a plane to CA.

    Probably skip the tournament.

Krom and Bell will wrestle in Friday's dual with plenty of time to get to California forthe All Star meet.
