This coming year should be very interesting and it may come down to which teams are healthiest. I do like PSU's prospects if everyone is healthy but that's not guarantee. The other key variable is how well guys develop during the year. Last year Ruth, St John & Gambrall all exceeded pre-season expectations. If a team gets a number of quick developers that could make the difference. But I like what PSU has returning this year if they all stay healthy.

Andrew Long, a key member of Penn State?s NCAA champion wrestling team, was charged Friday with rape, court documents show.
Long, 22, of State College, was arrested Friday by State College police and charged with rape, criminal attempt of rape and indecent assault. The charges indicate the alleged victim was unconscious.
The affidavit filed by police was not immediately available Saturday.
Long posted $100,000 unsecured bail Friday. Long is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the charges Wednesday at the Centre County Courthouse in central court.
Borough police reported Friday they were investigating an alleged sexual assault that happened during the early morning hours Friday on the 400 block of East Foster Avenue in State College.
State College police declined to comment on Saturday but said there are no other active sexual assault investigations.
Long played a big role in Penn State?s wrestling success, finishing third at 133 pounds during this past March?s NCAA Championships in Philadelphia. Long, who finished his sophomore season with a 20-2 record, also won a Big Ten title for the Nittany Lions.
Long joined the Nittany Lions in December after a successful yet troubled two years at Iowa State, where he was a 2010 NCAA finalist at 125 pounds.
Penn State spokesman Pat Donghia said coach Cael Sanderson has no comment on the charges.

Just trying to make this the best thread it can possibly be. With all the wrestling news coming out of Happy State Valley College lately I can see how it would be hard to miss an article here or there so I thought I'd help out.

I knew about this about 4 hours before Vais posted it. And since I knew too much about the situation, I was not gong to make any comment until some regular media guys did or the police released it.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. ? A key member of Penn State's NCAA champion wrestling team is facing sex assault charges after allegedly trying to rape a sleeping woman.
State College police charged 22-year-old Andrew Long on Friday in an assault that allegedly happened early that morning.

According to an affidavit filed by police, a 55-year-old woman told police she came to State College to clean a home so her son could move in for the fall semester, and was at the home at about 9 a.m. Thursday, when her son brought two people to the home. One was a person that the woman and her son had known a long time. The friend was accompanied by a man who she and her son did not know, who introduced himself as Long, police said.

The woman told police she went to sleep at about 12:30 a.m. Friday, and woke about 3 a.m. to find her underwear had been removed and someone was touching her vaginal area. She told police she saw Long, wearing only underwear, laying next to her on the bed. The said she told him to get out, to which he replied "no," and when she pushed him from the bed, he told her to shut up.

The woman said she grabbed some clothing and her cell phone and ran from the house. She called her husband, who then called police.

The woman's son and his friend told police they'd left the house with Long after meeting the woman, and the three men later separated.

Long, contacted by police, said he was not in the area of the house, and chose not to speak with police.

He was charged Friday with criminal attempted rape, aggravated indecent assault, and indecent assault.

Court documents say Long was released on unsecured bail the same day. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Long finished third at 133 pounds in this year's NCAA championships, helping the Nittany Lions win their first team title since 1953.

Long transferred to Penn State after two years at Iowa State, where he was the 2010 NCAA runner-up at 125 pounds.

Penn State spokesman Pat Donghia said the university was aware of the situation but "would not issue any further comment at this point."

"It's early on. We've got to wait," he said.

Long doesn't have a listed phone number

PSU wrestler waives hearing on attempted rape charge

Penn State wrestler Andrew Long Wednesday waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of attempted rape, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault filed against him Friday.

State College police filed the charges after a 55-year-old woman, who was in the borough to clean a home so her son could move into it for the fall semester, told police she awoke at 3 a.m. Friday to find Long lying next to her, touching her intimately.

The woman told police she'd been introduced to Long Thursday night by a person who was a long-time acquaintance of herself and her son.

It's not unusual for defendants to waive their right to a hearing, the purpose of which is to determine if the state has enough evidence to proceed with a criminal prosecution. Waiving the hearing moves the case to county court for possible trial.

Long finished third at 133 pounds in this year?s NCAA championships, helping the Nittany Lions win their first team title since 1953. Long transferred to Penn State after two years at Iowa State, where he was the 2010 NCAA runner-up at 125 pounds.
