Another indication of Pennsylvania’s stranglehold on wrestling superiority is the number of All-Americans all-time by state. Pennsylvania leads the way with 584, followed by Oklahoma 524, Iowa 450, Ohio 318 and Illinois 303.

Tulsa (Okla.) Central High School, which is no longer in existence heads the list of high schools producing NCAA All-Americans with 65 all-time. St. Edward’s in Lakewood, Ohio, is next on the list with 48.
Tied with Bethlehem Liberty and Trinity as producing the most All-Americans from Pennsylvania and tied for 16th place in the nation is State College Area High School. Each school has produced 16 All-Americans, one more than Clearfield and Easton.
