Re: Everything Penn State Wrestling
Sure I could be wrong - I almost expect to be wrong on at least 2 weight classes. I had about 5 minutes between things at work, so I figured I would stir the pot a little bit.
I didn't really take the time to look at last year's results, so I was going off of vague memory from last year combined with the Binghamton result.
I figured I would hide my weak predictions in the PSU thread rather than making a new thread and getting torn apart publicly.
:D
The season starts tonight!
Re: Everything Penn State Wrestling
I think you lose 141 and 149 and that Brown and Q don't pin.
Re: Everything Penn State Wrestling
I'm pumped too, unfortunately I'm at work, but I will be following the twitter feed. Your predictions are solid, but I don't blame you for hiding them in here, things have been a little edgy on the board lately.

Re: Everything Penn State Wrestling
Feeling pretty good about the Pearsall pick. Apparently I should have said will be wrong about who will be wrestling two matches....

125 – Megaludis by major at least
133 – Conaway loses decision
141 – Pearsall by decision
149 – Alton major
157 – Dylan Alton by decision (Napoli ranked # 13)
165 – Taylor TF
174 – Our Brown Pins their Brown
184 – Ruth decision (maybe higher scoring, I like Hamlin) Hamlin ranked #3
197 – Q by fall
285 – Lawson dec. I'll take the multiple NJ state championships over the multiple NJ state second place winner
37-3. The only weights I see in question at 133 (obviously) and HWT . Out of the air, I am saying Lehigh wins one. Could be either one, could be none.

I was right about being wrong - I was wrong twice about who would be wrestling, then it got worse.
125- Mega got the TF, looked even better than I expected
133- Sorry I went against Conaway. I gave the wrong of my two toss-up matched to Lehigh. Great win by Conaway at the end. Really nice to see him get that one by working all 7 minutes
141- Now I really like that pick! The one I got right is the one that people questioned the most - go figure
149- wrong wrestler, I should have known they might wait to bring AA back. Happy to see English pick off a ranked guy. I thought English was the better wrestler.
157- GONG!!!! I have to say, Napoli looked good and made DA look bad/tired toward the end.
165- Taylor by TF is about the easiest pick there is.
174- Their Brown looks strong which slowed down the match. Maybe I'm just a bit too high on Matt Brown...
184- I've posted my thoughts on this.
197- I was hoping for a dominant win for Q. I'm still really worried that the stronger guys can slow down (as happened here) or stop (as happened at NWCA) Q's stuff up at this weight.
HWT- Well, wrong wrestler and wrong outcome. Overall a terrible pick. Gingrich shot a lot, but from straight ahead and got caught underneath every time. It seems like he completely focused on head and hands battling for about 90 second, then would take not-high-percentage shots. Tough way to win.
Re: Everything Penn State Wrestling
And having just watched Lawson wrestle, he did A LOT more than Gingrich did. At this point, it has to be Lawson's spot to lose, and since I expect him to progress faster than Gingrich at this point, I think Gingrich will continue to tear up the open brackets.
