Few Penn State fans know the origin of the term "Nittany Lions". Nittany is Pennsylvania High Dutch for "not any". This was the repeated response to a reporters inquiries as to the teams title history and future hopes.

Who knew the name would stick.

    Um that IS a Wonka-ism!

I landed when it was 54 & rainy. By Sunday it was 85 & sunny & everyone felt obliged to remove as much clothing as possible. Ah I forgot the Northeast!

Had Lunch with a few PSU grads while I was there. Got some biz done & made some money. Started feeling like I was living there again. I also when to Ron Paul's office & acted like I was stalking a rock star.

I don't think this has come out in an official announcement, but Aaron Anspach is moving out of coaching and into the regular world. He is also getting married in about a week, so a big congratulations to him.
I believe Nick Fanthorpe is taking his spot on the coaching staff.

That's interesting. That would give us 2 lighter weight coaches--Cody and Fanthorpe and no Hwt asst coach. I know that Cael can wrestle with the heavier weights and Casey with them most of the way up, but I'm surprised they replaced a heavier weight class coach with a lightweight coach.

    Tom,
I agree. I was wondering if they would move Sigman over. He can't go to practices currently, and I think he is still too focused on competing in FS (though maybe not as much now that the olympic dream is over) to switch from resident athlete to coach. I wonder if they didn't have a perfect fit at this point, so they figured they would use Cael in the role for a year and then take a more thorough look next year. Then again, Aaron has known he would be moving on for at least a couple months.

Maybe it is good that we picked up a transfer (Lawson) plus having Gingrich and Ruggear. At least there are enough bodies in the room to roll in practice.
