Default Free Meals to Honor Veterans and Active Duty

•Applebee's. Applebee's is offering a free entree on Wednesday to veterans and all active-duty military from 11 a.m. to midnight at all 1,900 locations. Although Applebee's requests some kind of military ID, "We're not going to argue with folks who might forget to bring it," says Sam Rothschild, senior vice president of operations.

•Golden Corral. The 485-unit chain is offering free buffet meals — including beverage and dessert — to current military and vets on Monday, Nov. 16, from 5 to 9 p.m. No military ID is required for its ninth annual Military Appreciation Monday, says Dolly Mercer, national events manager. The event is held on this date, she says, "so we don't interfere with Veterans Day activities."

Hey, you're welcome!

Colfax, WA? Really? My brother graduated from WSU and I spent a fair amount of time around Odessa and Moses Lake many years ago..

If my DQ was open and not under construction, we typically offer up free meals and entire family meal discounts. Its such a small thing to do for such an important day.

Plus it generates goodwill and added paying customers. Win-win for veterans/active duty AND business owners.

Yeah I've been up here for about five years now living in Colfax and I'll start my third year as the Colfax wrestling coach. Moses Lake has an INCREDIBLE program with great history. What brought you to Odessa? There's not much in Odessa.

Gestures like that do a lot in my opinion to promote goodwill, I know that if there was a business like that in our town I would be sure to patronize them on a regular basis.

My sister-in-law is from Odessa.....

Odessa HS actually had a wrestling team when I was out there as did WSU, but again, that was a long time ago.....
