When the little guys start dropping a weight class it really takes a lot out of them -Bebee would have lost around 11% of his body weight which would mean he was cutting into the Muscle mass . 1.0%=1.33 lbs X 8 =10.4 % body mass reduction . |

usually the 125 ansd 133 lbers have around 5-6 % body fat -after that your cutting muscle mass and the body starts sending out distress signals to itself that starvation is imminent and your metabolism slows and your body beging to cannibalize itself . If a guy let's himself weight a 1,000lbs he should be shot . I don't know the exact % of body fat Bebee has -but I would guess it low as he is a succesful Div. 1 wrestler and in great condition it would be low . As to the 1,000 lb guy he would have to lose 715 lbs . to make weight -so were looking at around 3 years minimum . |

CMU had a 125 backup that was very capable a few years back with a name simliar to Streintrager- is this the same guy? Or maybe a brother, seems like it was at least 3 years ago but my timeline may be off. If it is that guy, he always wrestled tough when getting the chance...

Beebe should be alright once he settles into the weight. Did they have to make scratch weight for wrestle offs? The first time probably sapped him pretty good.

That could be true, but Streintrager has a respectable resume (if it's the guy I think it is, which it sounds like) - one thing I've learned about CMU after all these years as a Northern Illinois fan is that EVERY year they seemingly pull backups or "no name" sophomores/juniors out of nowhere who compete right away when given the chance. Always tons of depth at CMU, a testament to Borelli of course... |
