Happy to see pretty solid efforts for future Cornellians Mike Nevinger (2nd at 141) and Craig Eifert (3rd at 149) in their first college matches. Both deferred their admission to Cornell until next fall. |

![]() | He nearly beat Honeycutt last year in the EWL finals. He was up 4-1 in the match before droping the match 5-4. I think he has good year this year. He is tough to score on and had a solid freshman season last year. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The bout was 1-1 in the third period. Unfortunately the camera panned away and I didn't see the takedown but it looked like Shields was in on a single and Asper reached under the far leg with the wrong arm. Shields got the TD with about 10 seconds to go. A correctable error.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Abandon all hope as of November 1. Season's over, kaput, done, stick it with a fork. No room for improvement. Crap, we had such high hopes.

Zapp, VA is for lovers said... "This is only the first tournament for Letts, but maybe this will slowdown some of the title talk i've heard." Who knows whether he will win it all or not though I think he is more than capable. Outside of truly dominant guys like Jake Herbert, the odds are against any one wrestler winning the nationals. My point being is that it's kind of odd to start discounting him based on some meaningless pre-season tournament. If that makes me a sensitive ninny, then so be it. I don't have 4500 posts like you so I am certainly no expert like you. |
