Happy to see pretty solid efforts for future Cornellians Mike Nevinger (2nd at 141) and Craig Eifert (3rd at 149) in their first college matches.

Both deferred their admission to Cornell until next fall.

He nearly beat Honeycutt last year in the EWL finals. He was up 4-1 in the match before droping the match 5-4.

I think he has good year this year. He is tough to score on and had a solid freshman season last year.

The bout was 1-1 in the third period. Unfortunately the camera panned away and I didn't see the takedown but it looked like Shields was in on a single and Asper reached under the far leg with the wrong arm. Shields got the TD with about 10 seconds to go. A correctable error.

So Letts is out of the national title talk VA is for lovers b/c of a 4-2 win in what is essentially a warm up tournament? that's an interesting way to see things.
