Steve Bell v. Kevin Smith 1st Period: Hard snap attempt by Bell to start off, then he comes back with a half shot...both guys with some early fankes. High c attempt by Smith on the edge, Bell blocks it and reshoots and they go out...Bell trying to work around with a front head, but they go out...and now they've cut over to the Knox/Guffey match...Bell gets a TD to go up 2-0, don't know how since they weren't watching the match...Smith tries to gramby out and spin away on the edge after some nice scrambles, and they give it to him as they go out...2-1 Bell, now they're watching Knox and Guffey again, Smith takes a shot, and Bell works behind him and takes him to the mat for the TD...4-1 Bell...Bell out to the side trying to pull an arm out, but Smith fighting it off. Bell nearly picks up some backs when Smith tries to gramby...period ends 4-1 Bell. 2nd Period: Now they're watching Knox and Guffey again...Smith starts down, and Bell is still riding him tough...they're cutting back and forth and making the match difficult to follow...Smith has his head on the mat, Bell is really grinding on him from the top, stalling probably wouldn't be unwarranted...Smith up to his feet and tries to turn in, Bell double legs him back to the mat and doesn't give the points. Bell up over 3 minutes of riding time, and still working from the top. Smith tripods up and tries to gramby out, Bell catches him for a one count but that is it. Bell rides the period out, he has riding time clinched. 5-1 Bell 3rd Period: Bell starts down, hits a gramby and picks up a reversal...7-1 Bell...Smith works his way up to his feet again, but Bell drops down to another double and drives him out...Smith finally out and away...7-2 Bell with 30 seconds left...Bell with a throw by into a shot, looking for the TD but they go out...Bell shoots a high crotch, they go out. Bell wins it. Steve Bell dec Kevin Smith 7-2, dominant performance especially from the top. Nearly 5 minutes of riding time. |

Honeycutt will win but not by much -Zac never seems to give up a lot of points and seems to hang around with a chance to win til the end . Smith is unranked and beat Conroy and 7-2 loss against the #4 in the nation isn't bad . |
