Default NCAA Survey RE Format, Timing of Wrestling Championships

The NCAA will shortly be making important decisions about the format and timing of their wrestling championships.

Understanding your opinion about these changes is very important in the
    decision-making process.

Please answer all questions carefully and honestly. This should not take more
    than 10 minutes.

I took the survey and like the idea of moving the Championships back. I don't know if I like the idea of the split season. I like the season the way it is with tournaments thrown in amongst the duals. What would happen to tournaments during the "dual" season? Would college athletes still be able to participate in the Midlands as is, or would the tournament have to be moved to a different date?

I like the idea of having to qualify for national duals but I also like having national duals in January. You get a chance to see how your team stacks up in a very tough format early in the season. Maybe a team could qualify for national duals on the merits of the previous year. IDK.

I would like to see nationals move back to April but I also love it that the season starts in November. I've got mixed emotions about it.

I also like that they move the championships around but wouldnt be against it being held in St. Louis every year. Auburn Hills, Albany and OKC have to be jokes. If they were ever to decide to hold this in Oklahoma every year I would quit going. I've never been there but I'm sure it sucks!

I don't get why they seem to think that keeping the championship in a single site is the way to go. Aside from Baseball, what other NCAA championship doesn't move? There are a ton of good sites that have arenas big enough and with areas around their arenas that are event friendly. Minneapolis, Cleveland and Columbus come to mind right of the top of my head. If you haven't been to the "Arena District" in Columbus, you'd be very surprised at the vast number of restaurants, bars, clubs, live music venues, hotels, etc. that are all within a 5min walk of the arena.

As Herk said, Auburn Hills is a joke.

Some venues & experiences are worse than others, I personally would be quite happy if it was in St. Louis every year. I can walk everywhere...

As long as they don't go back to Albany though, I'll be happy.

Try the Target Center in Minneapolis!

therick-The Women's College World Series is always played in Oklahoma City, at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. Furthermore, the Cross Country Championships are always held in Terre Haute, Indiana, at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.

I look forward to having the championships rotated to east once in a while. We always get stuck with the travel expense.

I like them moving around. It's good for the sport. We run the risk of turning wrestling into only a regional sport more and more, if we don't. I like National Duals in Cedar Falls, but I have a homer's prejudice about that.

All that said, the new Kansas City downtown facility would be great, and KC is a really great place to host events.

Wrestlers can "wrestle" their way into shape before the
tournament season begins in late February.

I do not like this statement. When wrestlers are out of shape, matches get extremely sloopy, and a lot stalling goes on. It would only get worse, but hay that is my opinion.
