This looks like a lot of fun. Lot of teams here who hope to be in the 10-15 rank for most of this year, and some of them will be after this tourney. Is this the year that Rutgers or Edinboro makes a move into the top echelon?
There should be some early and interesting matches for Penn State. Lets see what Cael's got to work with. It's also great to get Northern Iowa out East and away from the superpowers who surround them in Iowa.
Thanks for the posts.

Not Rutgers, the push will come in 2011.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

Edinboro is already in the top echelon of teams.
I like Pitt to move a step forward this year followed by a huge step in 2010 season. They have a good solid core of young wrestlers.

If that's true, then Edinboro should defeat a Penn State team that is freshly stocked with huge talent, but is a program just starting under Sanderson. Should be a great match-up.
Top echelon teams are consensus national contenders (Cornell, IA St, MN, OK St., OH & IA) Having one returning National Champ (King) and 3 returning National Qualifiers (according to d1collegewrestling.net) probably doesn't qualify Edinboro as a top echelon team as of the start of this year. But if they have another year like last year, they may very well step up.
I'm excited about Pitt's chances, too. They're building something strong there it seems.

Edinboro lost G.G. and Donahoe from last years team plus Honeycutt plans to redshirt. However they have a round of 12 heavywieght coming in Chris Birchler and a couple NCAA qualifiers who redshirted last year in Eric Morrill and Phil Moricone.
The wild card for them seems to be Garrett Scott. He is as tough as they come but just seems set back all the time. (injuries, off the mat stuff,...)
I like Edinboros chances against PSU.
