    Default Cornell

Earl has Cornell's line up and it is hard to believe -
Nick , Grey , with Kerber at 65 and Lewnes at 74 ,Simaz at 197 and Arnone at Hwt . If they get anything at 141-157 they could challenge for the top 3 or higher .

That was what surprised me the most -Kerber was a really good 84 lber and if he can handle the cut he'll be a stud at 65 .
They also have Blanton from Ill. wrestling 74 with dergo at 84 .

For what its worth both Kerber and Simaz were wrestling up last year.

It'll be a big pull for him, but its not like he was a "legit" 184 last year.

I would think that they wouldn't have made that decision without having him make it once before or get close.

I don't think they'd go simply on his word saying "yeah coach i can make it"

Having 5 returning AAs plus Kerber should put Cornell in the mix next year again.

As for the other weights, big things are expected from Kyle Dake, the frosh, at 141. After Nickerson, Grey, Lewnes and Simaz all AAed as freshmen in recent years, some Cornell fans expect Dake to be the next freshman AA. We'll see.

The 157 pounder, whether it's the favorite, DJ Meagher or senior John Basting, should at least qualify for nationals and maybe win a match.

Steve Bosak is the third CU wrestler whose ideal weight this year would probably be 174 (along with Lewnes and Kerber). It's hard to know what to expect from him although he did place last year at the Cliff Keen in Vegas at 174.

149 is the biggest question mark. The hope is that Corey Manson, Brian Alves or whoever wins the spot will qualify for nationals but it won't be that easy. 149 in the EIWA is a weight with decent depth (Kyle Borshoff, Matt Kyler, Cesar Grajales, Kevin LeValley and Bryce Saddoris, if he doesn't go 157).

For those interested, I'm attaching Coach Koll's take on the lineup from the newsletter he just sent out tonight.
