Typical Koll - he takes a logical stance on something that may not be "popular" but he's open and honest about his reasoning. I have nothing but respect for the guy and can easily see his reasons.

He takes a similar "unpopular" stance on holding guys out in matches and not putting an importance on duals. Like that, while "unpopular" it makes sense and many coaches feel the same way but don't say it outright.

All this can do is get a dialogue going to fixing the current problems with the All Star Classic...

Why the move to beginning of the season...

From what I remember, there were problems with wrestlers not participating when it was held in late January/early February. Among the reasons assumed at the time: already being injured/beat up during the season leading up to the All-Stars... fear of getting injured at the event... "scouting issues" so close to the NCAAs (learning about an opponent you might not otherwise face in the reg season, weeks before the championships). I think there were problems to the point where organizers had to go pretty far into the rankings to get guys willing to participate.

For the first 6 years, the event was held AFTER the NCAAs, which had its own set of problems... namely, fans weren't interested and the wrestlers weren't enthusiastic. (It was basically anticlimatic.)
