This is the highest the University of Virginia has ever been ranked preseason.

    Any thoughts on these rankings?

I'm going to go look anyway, but just asking here. Are these specified as dual or tournament rankings, or are they both?

Its slipping my mind at the moment as to how Eazee likes to do these things.

At this point of the season or pre-season its combo of tournament and dual scoring. Once the season starts the team rankings will tend to favor dual strength.

I'd have to start breaking match ups down individually if I was going to really quibble with these.

Just looking them over quick I think they look solid as usual.

Minnesota will be in the hunt. Mario Mason ranked 22nd and Geiger not ranked at all as well as Jake Deitchler? That will be easy for minnesota to climb in those rankings if those three can do well. I think Mike Thorn could also finish way ahead of his No. !7 ranking. He did beat NCAA champ jaggers twice last year so keep counting the gophers out. What kind of wine is best served withy Crow? Where is Glasser or the Yohn Brothers in the rankings? I think Minny has 2 champs(DShlatter/Jayson Ness) this year and 8 AA's which could win it all

Boise state? I don't see them in top 10 by end of year

This would be the highest the University of Maryland has been ranked, probably ever. This will be the best team in Maryland's history. I think it is entirely possible that the Terps finish with 5 or 6 all americans.

Maryland may also end up with the best finish at the NCAAs by an ACC school. North Carolina finished 5th in 1982.

Once again Indiana is ranked WAY to high . They wrestle , as usual , a very light schedule and then go 2-6 or worse in the big 10.I.U. has 1 great wrestler and 3 good wrestlers -they'll place 7th in the big 10 and 60th in the nationals .

By the end of the year you may be right, but they've got to earn those rankings first. Returning AAs do mean something. This isn't a sign of disrespect to the Gophers. Its a challenge for those highly-ranked recruits and redshirts to get busy and show us what they've got. They could very well have 2 champs and 8 AAs, but if they don't, you can tell us what wine is best served with crow. By the way, Boise state is well-coached and much-improved. Perhaps Penn State is ranked below what they deserve if all the talk is true. Oklahoma State may be under-ranked as well.

Right...60th at nationals with Angel Escobedo? You might want to think that through again...
