Default An interview with Jeff McGinness

Former Hawkeye great and 2X NCAA champion, Jeff McGinness, was kind enough to answer a few questions for this week's blog.

I enjoy all your posts and blogs. This is a great interview, I agree wholeheartedly that people who post on forums and other places attacking other competiors does more harm than good to a sport I dearly love. Listened to Barry Davis, Lee Kemp and Jeff they are talking about getting some class in wrestling to promote not tear down the sport. IMHO

    Thanks, GG.
I wish we had more participation from some of these greats from the past. I pop into the other forum occasionally, and it makes me sad to see the mean-spiritedness and worse that seems to come out frequently from fans of all teams, including the ones that I follow. I'm not saying that we don't see it here occasionally too, but they tolerate some behavior there that we see less of here. Thanks to JensenS and everybody for not letting things degenerate.

Thanks to all for the kind words - but the real appreciation should go to Jeff for his openness. I'm working on doing at least a couple more of these "blast from the past" interview blogs before the season starts.

That is why I don't post on themat.com, though I read it sometimes. I know Mark Schultz, Matt Lindland and some other world medallists post on there, but a lot of them have stopped because they have to put up with some much crap.
