Thread: NCAA D1 Champions Chart 1928-2009

  1. #1

Default NCAA D1 Champions Chart 1928-2009

NCAA D1 Champions Chart (Use horizontal scroll bar ts scroll from 1928-2009)

    Which do you like better:

    Version 1 (with boxes):
    http://www.wrestlingtree.com/NCAAChampionsFrames.html

    Version 2 (no boxes):
    http://www.wrestlingtree.com/NCAAChampions2Frames.html

This is the first version so bear with me.
If there are any errors or ways that you think it could be improved please post.

I dunno if the gaps between weight classes is a good thing with the authentic weight classes or if just going to WW, MW etc would be easier.

I think you need to make it more clear who is in what weight class. You can only see the weights on the left side for the first few years, and then after that you'd have to scroll all the way back every time you wanted to check the weight class.

Why not just have the weight by the guys name or something?

So like in the text box just have "Harold DeMarsh, 115" for example

Plus that way you wouldnt need all the empty spaces between guys to account for all the future/past weight classes on the left side

    Harold DeMarsh, 115
    Ralph Lupton, 125
    Arthur Holding, 135
    Melvin Clodfelter, 145

That seems much easier to read then the way you have it.

or you could do it in front also

    115: Harold DeMarsh
    125: Ralph Lupton
    135: Arthur Holding
    145: Melvin Clodfelter

That actually seems like the best idea to me now that I think about it
    Gold is an idiot.

Or another idea, you could have the original 10 weights on the left side

    115
    125
    135
    145
    Etc

and have the names lined up with them for as long as those are the current weights

Then when there is a weight change add an extra collum and post the new weights.
    Gold is an idiot.

Yeah, I'm going to have to fix that. Your suggestions are pretty good, although I'm also thinking of having a static weightclass column that would always be on the screen even if you scroll. I'll have to see if that's doable. If not I may go with your suggestion.

That might be a good idea. I'll have to think about it the gaps between weightclasses (to accomodate every weight class bother me. Too much empty space)

Also, reverse the order of the years.

Put the most recent year first, then scroll back in time.

Most people are probably interested in more recent years and it takes a lot of scrolling to get there.

This is also a good idea, I second it.

Something to maybe think about for a future database but you could also include their High School, especially since there has been a little debate on who has the best wrestlers the past few months.

That might be a good idea but would take some time.

There are two high school included right now.

Granby High School = Billy Martin/Gray Simmons
Marcus Di Niza High School (Arizona) = Kid Yamamoto
