This would have never hit the papers if he was 17. I had a situation growing up where, because I was a minor, and defending my mother, charges really could not have been filed. I mean, they could, but it would have been fruitless.

I, too, am waiting to hear more on this before chalking this up to another UNL flub.

Aggravated Battery usually means the perpetrator had a weapon of some sort -that is the difference between Battery and Aggravated Battery -wonder what would make a D-1 wrestler use a weapon ?

I don't know the whole story nor do many people outside that room , but i do know AB carries a stiffer sentence than battery -it is also-at least in Indiana a felony -not a misdemeanor .

In the article it stated that the wrestler and th eother kid used only their hands and feet

You never know what the boyfriend could have been doing to the mother or to Cotton himself, so I'm going to hold my judgement until the facts have all come out.

I re-checked and Aggravated can also mean attacking a woman or a child -either way it is a felony and if these charges stick this young man will be a violent felon and he may as well shoot himself . That or get used to asking if he wants fries with that , although even fast food places won't hire a violent felon .

If this kid is over 18 I'd say he is screwed -Domestic charges cannot be dropped by the complaintant , they will automatically be picked up by the state .
