r.payton, don't go gettin' me all riled up! If Henderson can beat Kerber, Marable should handle him. But, that's why they wrestle 'em, you never know.

    Tigerfan,
I REALLY think this is DWYER's year to shine .All those 3 ot matches are over -after he sticks Marable that first time this year he'll lead Marable around the country with a ring through his nose .
When have I ever tried to Rile you up ??

I know Kerber was undersized, but going from 184 to 165 is a big drop. I remember everyone saying that Matt Pell was going to be the second coming after making that drop and for awhile he had less successful results than he did at 184. He did end up turning it around at NCAAs his senior year (went on a pin streak) but in general you don't see a lot of guys drop two classes, probably for good reason...

Pell went R12/3rd...not a bad series of results if Kerber can come and match it.

Pell also won the Gorrarian Award, which is nice.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

Sure did, stuck Mike Miller, Eric Tannenbaum, and two other guys that year.

That's what I meant about having a good 2nd day of the tourney his senior year - pinned a bunch of guys on the last day and took 3rd. But IIRC he was an AA at 184 and dropped down two classes, people were saying his junior year that he was an instant title contender and didn't even AA. But I didn't mean to make this a debate about Matt Pell, just saying that a big drop like this doesn't mean any sort of success.

As Hendricks well knows, it's exceedingly difficult to beat top-notch wrestlers every single time. It could happen, but Marable was a shadow of himself in their last match due to a concussion, yet still managed to gut out the win in a win-or-go-home match. If Dwyer couldn't manage it then, I doubt he ever will. That said, it is a shame, because Marable's dad and I agree that Dwyer is probably our second favorite 165lber in the country. The guy brings it every time and you've got to respect that.

Kerber is not overly tall and I could see him making 165. I thought 165 would be his ideal weight in college but he bulked up a lot and ended up wrestling up much higher.
