The NCAA is considering rescheduling the national championships to April, after basketball season. In the second of a series, the Examiner.com explores the potential benefits of such a shift to athletes and their fans http://www.examiner.com/x-7334-Colle...letes-and-fans Mark

I like the idea, I think it will help with the exposure to the sport for many people. I would love the opportunity to take some of my kids to meets, but there is no way we are going to drive a couple hours on a Friday night before our conference or state tournament meets the next day.

So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it. |

I like everything about moving nationals to April/starting the season later except the timing of season-opening events (i.e., K-B Open) and mid-season events (i.e., Midlands and Scuffle). I wouldn't like the Midlands and Scuffle to be season-openers as the article suggests - too many guys not in the lineup or down to weight, etc. But, I also like the tradition of having the events just before New Years. All in all, that's a minor thing, I'm sure someone smarter than me could figure out how to make it work.
