Default Early breakdown of 2009-2010 Missouri Tigers

125 Troy Dolan - expectations were high for this 3x PA champ and Dapper Dan winner over Zach Sanders. Dolan really took his lumps, however and showed a steadily eroding confidence. He had wins over Bonnano, Krutsinger, and Pokorny, but also had a disturbing propensity for getting stuck. He has been working hard, though and I expect he learned a lot. I look for more confidence and marked improvement. I think he'll qualify this year, maybe even win a match.

133 Todd Schavrien - went 1-2 at last year's tourney, and was ranked 15-20 consistently. Assuming he continues to improve with more time in the Mizzou room, maybe we can get a Rnd12 finish out of him.

141 Nick Hucke - Hails from Askrens' HS, was 22-5 during his RS campaign. Made the semis of FilaJR's, I believe. Look for good things from this freshman, qualifying and even winning a match or two.

149 Brandon Wiest/Cody Farinella/Scott O'Donnell - a hole again in Mizzou's line-up. Not likely to qualify.

157 Nick Gregoris/Patrick Wright - Shame one of these guys will be sitting. Wright is a soph, while Gregoris is fresh off his RS. Both hard working, and competitive, Gregoris has more upside and won the final of 3 bouts between them last year. Whover wins the spot will qualify and win a match or two.

165 Nick Marable - Was a concussion away from being a finalist last year. With the return of Schlatter, Nick could win it all or finish low AA.

174 Dorian Henderson - continues to learn how to wrestle, when it clicks for him - watch out! 0-2 last year, I see him winning a couple this year down at 174.

184 Brent Haynes - #2 recruit behind Geiger, works real hard and has excellent hips. He'll take some lumps as a freshman, but steady improvement will result in him qualifying.

197 Max Askren - wrestled his whole career in the wrong weight class, but will finish out strong. Fully healed after resting all summer, look for Max to finish Mid to High AA.

Hwt Mark Ellis/Dom Bradley - Ellis is footballing, so no telling who gets the spot - doesn't matter though. Either will be a high AA to Champ.

Looks good, but i gotta disagree about marable. He didnt impress all year and was ranked outside the top 3 all year, and was a big disappointment all year. Not sure how he was a concussion away from the finals either. He wrestled the entire tournament and got 7th, can you explain?

Marable had to adjust to how he was being wrestled and lost some early matches. By the end of the year he was firing on all cylinders, repeated as Big12 Champ and was primed for a championship run. Lewnes early exit paved the way, (although he's 3-0 against Lewnes anyway). If he hadn't been knocked cold in his first match, I think he woulda been a finalist. Morningstar, Howe, and Schlatter are the only questions. I realize he only took 7th, but considering his injury, it was impressive (maybe not to you). He's 5-0 against Dywer and undefeated against Reader/Sponseller/King. I'd say 4th at worst (if healthy).

Looks like it'll be kind of the same deal as last year in terms of how the two halves of their line up breakdown with their better guys being up top.

Marable got knocked out -- literally -- in the first round. He kept wrestling, wrestled the best that he possibly could with a concussion, and still AA'ed. Outside of Midlands, I wouldn't say he was a disappointment all year. I think that your take is a little too harsh.

Yeah..perhaps. You guys keep up with mizzou better than I but for some reason I remember some bad losses and those stuck with me more than the bad wins. I still think saying he was a concussion away from the finals is a big stretch.

Marable had a tough early season with losses to Rendos (who wound up AA'ing) and Chris Breezy (who had a great year) and a bad Midlands.

After Midlands he wrestled as well as any 165 in the country.

I didnt watch a ton of footage on Marable last year because frankly he's about as exciting as the house I've been painting for the last week drying.

But he looked pretty damn good in the B12 finals, this is the first I've heard about him getting Ko'ed. I was surprised he only got 7th.

I still cant believe for the life of me that Jarrod King won the whole damn thing...

I mean, who'd have thought? Definitely not me.
