Default Jim Gruenwald to Wheaton College

    From d3wrestle.com

Olympic wrestler and former USOEC greco coach Jim Gruenwald has accepted the position of head wrestling coach at Wheaton College as of this evening. He was preceded by Dan Weber and takes over a team that had its first All-American since 2003 this year. Gruenwald will be the third coach in the last three seasons at Wheaton, hopefully bringing some stability to the program.

Wheaton College is the school that just allowed a dance a few years ago for the first time, like in Footloose. The problem with the turnover may not be so much with the wrestling program, but with the culture of the school. It's a very conservative and Christian place, but from what I know of Gruenwald, it sounds like a good spot for him.

It's great to have him in the Chicago area. Hopefully he'll do lots of camps, and it's not too far from Overtime. Maybe he can do some Greco clinics there. (DH: hint, hint! )

Could be a pretty big blow to the USOEC, wonder who they are going to get to replace him...
