Has anyone been there? How long does it take to go through it?

I am going to Waterloo next weekend and just was curious how much time we should put aside to see the museum.

    Thanks
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

I know they have a wrestling facility as we are working out there this summer when we make our wrestling pilgrimage across the states.

I spent about an hour, hour and a half there, and that was looking through every nook and cranny. If you need something else to occupy your time after you go to the museum, there is a strip club right next door.

Also, if you're looking for a place for dinner, I really like Bourbon St. in Cedar Falls.

I haven't been there since the flood, but I spent a little longer there than blue did (the museum - not thestrip club), but I watched a bunch of video. If the one with Gable and Vern Gagne survived, it's priceless. Be aware that they are doing weigh-ins for the tournament there also.

As I've posted before, a neat little place to visit if you come through eastern Iowa, is the gym at Cornell College to look at the 1947 NCAA Championship memorabilia and the NWHOF plaques. If you get a hold of Coach Duroe he'll gladly give you a mini-tour. Or let me know you're coming and I can take you there.

BTW - the best museum piece in Waterloo next weekend might be Randy Lewis (just kidding, Lewboo)

Well, I liked how the poles and floor were clean. I didn't slip when doing my routine.

I also sat and talked with Mike Chapman for a while, and he was all kinds of awesome.

I spent a couple of hours at the Museum the first time, and now about 45 minutes most years when I go back. You never know who will come through the door. There's usually someone there to strike up an interesting conversation with, or just to reminisce. (homer.) I could listen to Mike Chapman speak for hours. (Museum Founder & wrestling history expert) The museum is a good place to find a book or tape as well.

I usually pick up a great blue mountain coffee across the river at Cottonwood (Jamaican Me Crazy, LOL. The owner grew up in Boston, so we chat it up.) when I'm in the area. If you get up to Cresco, they have an Iowa Wrestling Museum there as well.

Randy Lewis? Is this an old-timer's event? (Let's get him riled up before he crushes some luckless teenage wrestler ...)
