I can't remember the last time I saw Keddy unable to get out from the bottom at the whistle. Herbert was awesome.

Not that I was a dirty wrestler or anything but when Tshirt stopped and held his hand up I would have hit him with everything I had . I wasn't aware a wrestler could call a time out without the ref blowing the whistle signaling a stop in the action .

Tanelli took a fantastic shot to take him down though, in my opinion that'd have been a TD whether or not Tsirtsis' bell was still rung at all.

Best shot of the night!

Who said we don 't get it? Its just not included in regular programming packages in Fla. I have to pay $5 for the sports pack on Dish.
Though, tomorrow, they are installing DirecTV. They better have it available.

Re: 2008 Midlands Wrestling Tournament Results/Brackets/Discussion

Denis wrestled really smart -alot of wrestlers -most-would have held on to Fanthorpes legs too long trying to get the takedown and ended up getting stuck-Dennis knew when to bail and give up 1-2 rather than 5 points -also ,Tanelli's whizzer was in so deep that tshirt was going no where and the announcers acted like it was unknown cosmic event that prevented Tshirt from getting the TD -it was Tanelli ripping his shoulder out .
141 is so weird that Kelly from IU placed -this might be a first , seriously -the man is horrible , yet he beat Krom and a coup[le of other guys and their he was -on a podium for the first time since he left Carmel High School in Indiana .
Precin did all he had to to win -only question was if he was going to stick Clark on that one scramble -which I thought he was going to do . Precin is the most unasumming 125 lber i've ever seen -looks like a freshman in high school .

I would like to thank my neighor for letting me watch this event although he knows nor cares nothing about the sport .

Re: 2008 Midlands Wrestling Tournament Results/Brackets/Discussion

It didn't look that hard Zapp. He stood right up, backed out and called time out. IF his bell was rung, it sure didn't look like it. I suspect it was to have his coach make sure that his nose was still centered on his face.....:-)

Re: 2008 Midlands Wrestling Tournament Results/Brackets/Discussion

Herbert definitely just made a strong statement for the best college wrestler in the country. Keddy looked like a practice dummy out there, and he was even in the positions that he is good in. Herbert just dominated every single second...

I'm not going to truly argue, because I didn't see it. But, off your description alone, if his "bell" was rung, I can't see how it wouldn't have some effect, even if he's just slow to react or gets into a bad position, etc.
