OSU senior 141 pounder Mike Mangrum picks up a pin vs. Arizona State's Matt Kraus. Mangrum will take on CSU Bakersfield's Timmy Box in the Pac-12 Championship's second session. Mangrum's two wins in session No. 1 puts him just two behind the legendary Les Gutches (1993-96) who has 134 all-time during his Oregon State career.

Beavers sit in first place with 124 points and a 14-4 overall record through the morning’s first 18 matches
TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 8/9/11 ranked Oregon State wrestling team sits in first place following session No. 1 of the 2013 Pac-12 Championships.* As a team, the Beavers reeled off a conference high 124 points and are 17.5 ahead of second place Boise State, who has 106.5. Both the Beavers and the Broncos are the only two schools to reach the century mark following the first session.
Six OSU wrestlers have perfect records heading into the second session of competition, which takes place at 2:30pm Pacific Time, including Mike Mangrum – 141 lbs. (2-0), Scott Sakaguchi - 149 lbs. (2-0), RJ Pena - 157 lbs. (2-0), Seth Thomas – 165 lbs. (2-0), Taylor Meeks – 197 lbs. (2-0) and heavyweight Chad Hanke (1-0).
Jim Zalesky’s squad saw a total of three pins courtesy of Mangrum, Thomas and Meeks as well as seven major decisions with a pair coming from 157 pounder RJ Pena. They are 14-4 as a team through their first 18 matches in session No. 1.
Mangrum, who won two in the first session now has 132 career wins, just two away from tying legendary OSU grappler Les Gutches (1993-96). He and the rest of his Orange and Black mates will take to the mats inside Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe at 3:30 p.m. local time (Mountain). Action from Session No. 2 will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks.
