Duca opened the dual by avenging an early season loss to the nationally-ranked Wildcat. He drilled a deep double-leg takedown in the second period to match Malone's first period two-pointer. Duca took arguably his best shot of the bout in the final 10 seconds of regulation but couldn't finish the takedown before time expired, sending the match into sudden victory. He kept it coming in the extra period, lifting Malone up off the mat and planting him to the mat for the bout-clinching takedown.
Sheridan will entered postseason action winner of his last eight matches overall and five consecutive against conference opponents. After a scoreless first period, Sheridan broke the tie with an escape for the only point of the second stanza. He then rode out Northwestern's Jacob Berkowitz for the entire third period to earn the riding time point and added on a stalling point.
The Big Ten Championships are up next for Indiana, heading to Champaign, Ill., for the conference tournament from March 9-10.
