Wrestling Falls in Home Finale to Duke

The NC State wrestling team fell to Duke in its home finale Wednesday night, 22-9. The Blue Devils won seven of the 10 matches on the evening, with the Pack picking up wins at 125, 141 and 285 pounds.
The dual meet started at 165 pounds, and Duke won the first four matches.
Duke's Randy Roden scored an upset win over No. 27 Nijel Jones with a 7-3 decision. At 174 pounds, Duke's Trey Adamson notched a 15-5 major decision over Bret Peltier.
Dylan Ryan posted a 9-7 overtime decision over State's Keegan Cerwinski at 184 pounds, and Diego Bencomo scored a 16-5 major decision over the Pack's Bill Cook at 197 pounds.
NC State freshman Mike Kosoy picked up the Pack's first win of the night, a 5-3 decision over Brian Self. Kosoy has won four of his last five bouts for the Pack.
After five bouts, Duke was up 13-2 at the intermission after a penalty point for both teams for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The Pack came out of intermission with junior Joe DeAngelo scoring a 12-3 major decision at 125 pounds over Tanner Hough.
The two teams then traded shutout decisions, with Duke's No. 27 Brandon Gambucci downing the Pack's Sam Speno, 5-0, at 133 pounds. The Pack's Tyler Hunt answered at 141 pounds, with a 6-0 decision at 141 pounds to pull the Pack closer at 16-9 with two bouts left.
Duke clinched the dual meet at 149 pounds, with Marcus Cain gaining an 8-4 decision over Thomas Gantt.The Pack will next compete at the 2013 ACC Championships, held March 9 in College Park, Md., with the University of Maryland serving as the host. The NCAA Championships are March 21-23 in Des Moines, Iowa.
