Michigan Assistant Coach Donny Pritzlaff
On Michigan's comeback ... "Sean [Boyle] getting pinned was a nine- or 10-point swing. So, we were upset and a little concerned after that. That's a bad habit that we've let creep into our wrestling -- we're on our backs way too much. I think we've given up a pin in every Big Ten dual.
"Rossi [Bruno] really got us back going. He went out there, put that guy on his head for five points and secured the major. We really wanted bonus out of him and knew we had a good chance at three more weights to keep us in the match. Eric [Grajales] followed up [Mike] Hillock's big win with a fall. That was huge. We felt confident with Eric. He's done well against that kid, and he's been wrestling very well."
On Rossi Bruno's win ... "We've been waiting to see that from Rossi. He's a guy who has been in a lot of competitive matches in his career. He always rose to the occasion. That was another indication of it right there. Everyone was upset after that pin at 125 -- there was no way to hide it -- but Rossi was ready to go right away. That double-over position he got late -- that takes a lot of courage to go out there and put somebody on their head."
On Eric Grajales' pin at 149 pounds ... "Eric did a much better job than he did on Friday night of being the aggressor and forcing that kid to wrestle the way he wanted to wrestle. The match didn't last very long. That's fine with me."
U-M Senior/Junior Eric Grajales
On his pin at 149 pounds ... "Today I knew I wanted to go out and wrestle my style, which is a lot of upper body and my tie-ups, and get to my moves rather than wait around for him. That was really important for me today. I did exactly that."
On having confidence against MSU's Dan Osterman ... "I do have confidence against him, but as this Big Ten season has progressed, I have gained a lot of confidence in myself more than anything. I'm constantly watching my matches that I've wrestled in the last few weeks to see what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong. So, I think that confidence is growing."
U-M Freshman Rossi Bruno
On his win ... "He took a really bad shot, and I just had to scoot around him. I didn't think he'd be able to do anything from his feet, so I focused on grinding him down. I heard the coaches say we need bonus points, so I went to my go-to move. It was the perfect position I got in, so I just went for it. Luckily it worked."
On earning bonus points after an MSU pin at 125 pounds ... "It's always a good feeling to get bonus points, especially in the Big Ten and especially after a long season of wrestling good guys and not getting the results you want. I was fired up. Sean [Boyle] is my teammate and like a brother, so to see him lose like that, I went out there wanting to make them pay. That was a lot of motivation."
On ending the Big Ten dual season with a win ... "My confidence never really wavered during the season -- maybe a little bit with some heartbreaking losses. I'm a freshman with a lot of room to grow, and I know it's going to build up and make me better in the long run. It's definitely a great win for the end of the Big Ten season."
