AMES, Iowa - The No. 22 Iowa State wrestling team (7-4 overall, 1-2 Big 12) will travel to head coach Kevin Jackson's home state of Michigan this weekend for duals with Michigan State and Eastern Michigan.
The Cyclones are ranked in the USA Today/ NWCA/AWN Coaches' Poll top-25 for the first time this season after winning six of their last seven dual competitions, including three wins over ranked foes.

-Iowa State is ranked in the coaches' poll top-25 for the first time this season after a 23-12 victory over No. 20 UNI on Friday, Feb. 8 at Hilton Coliseum.
-At 197 pounds, No. 7 Kyven Gadson remained perfect in dual competition (10-0) as he picked up his first career dual pin as a Cyclone over UNI's Blaize Cabell. The Waterloo, Iowa native is on an eight match winning streak that dates back to Dec. 30 at the Midlands Championships.
-No. 20 Tanner Weatherman was named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week after his 13-3 major decision victory over UNI's Cody Caldwell at 174 pounds. Caldwell was *ranked No. 16 by W.I.N. Magazine. The Huxley, Iowa native has won six of his last seven matches dating back to a Jan. 5 tech fall victory over Oklahoma's Matt Reed. Weatherman has scored bonus points in four of those six wins.
-No. 19 Michael Moreno (20-6 overall, 7-4 duals) is the first Cyclone to hit the 20-win mark this season, as he scored a 10-1 major decision over UNI's Jarrett Jensen in the Cyclones' last outing.
-Following two matches against ranked opponents in No. 10 Chris Chionuma (Oklahoma State) and No. 6 Ryan Loder (UNI), No. 15Boaz Beard is set to face another ranked opponent at 184 pounds in No. 18 John Rizgallah of Michigan State on Friday.
Scouting Michigan State
-Michigan State has lost its last nine duals, six of which were against Big Ten competition.
-The Spartans claim victories over Eastern Michigan (25-11) and Bucknell (28-11).
-Michigan State competed at the Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno, Nev. on Dec. 16, where they finished in 3rd place with 107.5 team points.
-One of Michigan State's featured wrestlers is heavyweight Michael McClure. McClure is 27-3 on the season and is currently ranked No. 7 nationally by InterMat.
Scouting Eastern Michigan
-Eastern Michigan's biggest win of the season came against No. 25 North Dakota State, 18-17. Iowa State also wrestled NDSU earlier this season on Dec. 16 in Ames, defeating the Bison 22-18.
-Eastern Michigan also claims dual victories over Duke, Seton Hall and Northern Illinois on the season.
-The Eagles and Cyclones both competed at the Midlands Championships Dec. 29-30. Iowa State finished 17th in the final team standings, while Eastern Michigan finished 30th.
Series History
-The Cyclones are 13-3 all-time against Michigan State, but the Spartans have won the past two meetings. The two teams last battled on Jan. 19, 1997 in Lincoln, Neb., a dual won by MSU 19-16.
-ISU and MSU first met back in 1922, a dual won by the Cyclones 50-0 in Ames. The 50-point win is the largest margin of victory ever for ISU in the 16 meetings with the Spartans.
-During a stretch from 1974-83, ISU defeated MSU 10-straight times. The Spartans ended the streak with a 16-15 win over the Cyclones on Jan. 21, 1995.
-ISU is 1-0 all-time in dual competition against Eastern Michigan. Their two schools lone meeting came on Jan. 14, 1966 in Terre Haute, Ind., a 36-0 Cyclone victory.
